I don't believe that. The Rapture is in Rev. 4:1, and the seals
begin to be opened in Rev. 6.
WHAT JOHN SHOREY DOESN'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND: THERE ARE TWO
RAPTURES
The one in ITh 4:16,17 is Mid-Trib. The one in ICor 15:51-54 is
on the Day of the Lord at the end of the Great Tribulation.
They are not alike. No one gets an immortal body in the first
Rapture. All saints get an immortal body at the last Rapture.
All sing the new song after the first Rapture. Only the 144,000
get to sing the new song after the last Rapture.
AT THE FIRST "TRUMP" (i.e., MID-TRIB), THE CORRUPTIBLE MUST PUT
ON INCORRUPTION, AND THERE IS NO EARTHQUAKE
1Th 4:16,17 says, "For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with
THE TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then WE which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall WE ever be with the Lord."
Rev 4:1 says, "After this I looked, and, behold, a door was
opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it
were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, COME UP HITHER,
and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter."
Rev 5:9,10 says, "And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art
worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou
wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of
every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And
hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign
on the earth."
Rev 10:11 says, "And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy AGAIN
before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings."
Rev 11:1-3 (i.e., John's next words) says, "And there was given
me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, RISE
(i.e., in the Mid-Trib Rapture), and measure the temple of God,
and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the
court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not;
for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they
tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give
power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand
two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth."
AT "THE LAST TRUMP", THE "MORTAL SHALL HAVE PUT ON IMMORTALITY",
AND THERE IS "A GREAT EARTHQUAKE"
1Co 15:51-54 says, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; WE shall not
all sleep, but WE shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in
the twinkling of an eye, at THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet
shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and WE
shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on
incorruption, AND this mortal must put on immortality. 54
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption (i.e.,
at the first Rapture), and this mortal shall have put on
immortality (i.e., at the last Rapture), then (tote, at that
time) shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death
is swallowed up in victory."
Rev 11:12-14 says, "And they heard a great voice from heaven
saying unto them, COME UP HITHER. And they ascended up to heaven
in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13 And the same
hour was there A GREAT EARTHQUAKE, and the tenth part of the
city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven
thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the
God of heaven. 14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the
third woe cometh quickly."
Rev 14:1-3 says, "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the
mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand,
having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And
I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as
the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers
harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new
song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the
elders: and NO MAN COULD LEARN THAT SONG BUT THE HUNDRED AND
FORTY AND FOUR THOUSAND, which were redeemed from the earth."
Joe_2:31 says, "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the
moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the
LORD come."
2Pe_3:10 says, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in
the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great
noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
Rev 6:12-17 says, "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth
seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became
black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a
fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a
mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when
it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved
out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the
great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the
mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid
themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and
hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and
from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his
wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"
