Tempest"
The Coming Great Tempest
by Eliyahu Klimek (all rights reserved; 2014)
Acts 27:1 And when it was determined that we should sail into
Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one
named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band; 2 and entering into
a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the
coasts of Asia; Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, was
with us. 3 And the next day we touched at Sidon; and
Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave liberty to go to his
friends to refresh himself. 4 And when we had launched from
thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary;
5 and when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia,
we came to Myra, a city of Lycia; 6 and there the centurion
found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us on
it. 7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and were scarce
come over against Cnidus, the wind not allowing us, we sailed
under Crete, over against Salmone; 8 and just passing it, came
unto a place that is called “The fair havens” near to where the
city of Lasea was. 9 Now when much time was spent and sailing
was now dangerous, because the Fast was now already past, Paul
admonished and said to them, “Sirs, I perceive that this voyage
will be with harm, and greatly jeopardize not only the cargo and
ship, but also our lives.” 11 Nevertheless the centurion
believed the captain and the owner of the ship, more than those
things that were spoken by Paul; 12 and because the haven was
not accommodating to winter in, the majority of them advised to
depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to
Phenice, to winter in an haven of Crete, and lies toward the
southwest and northwest. 13 And when the south wind blew softly,
supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence,
they sailed close by Crete; 14 but not long thereafter arose a
tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon, against it, 15 and when the
ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her
drive; 16 and running under a certain island that is called
Clauda, we had much work to come about the skiff; 17 which, when
they had taken it up, they used helps, undergirding the ship;
and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, struck
sail, and so were driven. 18 And we being exceedingly tossed
with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; 19
and the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of
the ship; 20 and when the sun, nor stars had not appeared in
many days, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we
would be saved was then taken away; 21 and after long abstinence
Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, “Sirs, ye
should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete,
and to have gained this harm and loss; 22 a now I exhort you to
be of good cheer; for there shall be no loss of life among you,
but loss of the ship, 23 for there stood by me this night, the
angel of Elohim, whose I am, and whom I serve, 24 saying, “Fear
not, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and, lo, Elohim
has given you all them that sail with you,” 25 Wherefore, sirs,
be of good cheer: for I believe Elohim, that it shall be even as
it was told me; 26 howbeit, we must be cast upon a certain
island.” 27 And when the fourteenth night was come, as we
were driven up and down in the Adriatic, about midnight the
shipmen deemed that they drew near to some land; 28 and sounded,
and found it twenty fathoms; and when they had gone a little
further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
29 Then fearing lest we should dash upon rocks, they cast four
anchors out of the stern and hoped for the daylight; 30 and as
the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had
let down the skiff into the sea, under pretense, as though they
would have cast anchors out of the foreship, 31 Paul said to the
centurion and to the soldiers, “Except these shipmen abide in
the ship, ye cannot be saved.” 32 Then the soldiers cut off the
ropes of the skiff, and let her fall off; 33 and while the
daylight was breaking, Paul besought them all to take food,
saying, “This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and
continued fasting, having eaten nothing, 34 wherefore I pray you
to take some food; for this is for your health; for there shall
not an hair fall from the head of any of you.” 35 And when he
had thus spoken, he took bread and gave thanks to Elohim in
presence of them all; and when he had broken it, he began to
eat. 36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took
some food 37 and we were in all in the ship two hundred
threescore and sixteen souls. 38 And when they had eaten enough,
they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea. 39
And when daylight came, they had not landed; but they located a
certain creek with a beach, into which they were minded, if it
was possible, to thrust the ship into; 40 and when they had
taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea,
and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted up the
mainsail to the wind, and made towards shore. 41 And falling
into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground and
the bow stuck fast and remained unmoveable; but the hinder part
was broken, with the violence of the waves. 42 And the soldiers'
counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim
out, and escape; 43 and the centurion, willing to save Paul,
kept them from their purpose; and commanded that those who could
swim should first cast themselves into the sea, and get to land;
44 and the rest, some on boards, and some on wreckage the ship;
and so it came to pass, that they all escaped safely to land.
28:1 And when they were escaped, then they came to know that the
island was called Melita (Malta); 2 and the barbarous people
showed us no little kindness; for they kindled a fire, and
received every one of us, because of the present rain, and
because of the cold; 3 and when Paul had gathered a bundle of
sticks and laid them on the fire, there came out a viper from
the heat and fastened on his hand. 4 And when the barbarians saw
the evil beast hanging on his hand they said among themselves,
“No doubt this man must be a murderer, whom, though he has
escaped the sea, yet vengeance does not permit him to live.” 5
But he shook off the beast into the fire and felt no harm. 6
Howbeit, when they looked as though he should have swollen, or
fallen down dead suddenly. And after they had looked a great
while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds,
and decided that he was a god.
This passage contains a deep mystery (intended). In Acts 27 we
read about Paul being sent on a ship to Rome, bound to be
delivered to Rome by a centurion named Julius. Reference is made
to the word 'ship' nineteen times in the passage, whether
directly or indirectly. The word 'ship' represents 'fellowship',
prophetically implying our spiritual fellowship with other
believers as the ends of the ages draws near. It can also refer
to businesses, and the sea being the place of commerce and
economies. Rome prophetically symbolizes a one-world government.
Roman rule in the first century AD extended from Britain,
through Europe and North Africa, to Greece, Turkey, and the
Levant. This passage relates the delivery of Paul, an Apostle of
the Lord Yeshua Messiah, over to the hands of the reigning,
global authority for the purpose of judging him. It is a
prophetic parable of our day and of how we are to survive such
times.
Luke 21:8 And he said, “Take heed that ye be not deceived
(plahnes); for many shall come in my name, saying “I Am” and,
“the time draws near”; go ye not therefore after them; 9 and
when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified;
for these things must first come to pass, but the end is not by
and by.” 10 Then he said to them, “Nation shall rise against
nation, and kingdom against kingdom; 11 and great earthquakes
shall there be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences;
and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven;
12 and before all these things, they shall lay their hands on
you and persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and into
prisons to be brought before kings and rulers for my name's
sake; 13 and it shall turn to be an occasion to testify
for you. 14 Settle in your hearts therefore, not to meditate
beforehand what ye shall answer; 15 for I Am will give you a
mouth and wisdom, that all your adversaries shall not be able to
oppose, nor resist; 16 and ye shall be betrayed both by parents,
and brethren, and relatives, and friends; and of you shall they
cause some to be put to death; 17 and ye shall be hated of all
for my name's sake 18 but there shall not a hair of your head
perish; 19 in your patience do ye possess your souls.”
The repetition of certain phrases, such as are found in Luke
21:18 in Acts 27:34, are clues intended to give us insight into
the meaning of a prophetic parable. The word 'parable' as used
here, means a particular prophetic passage that is given to
inform us of events that are fore to come; the Holy Spirit
revealing to us things to come. The word translated as
'deceived' in Luke 21:8 in Greek is planes (plahnes) and what it
indicates is pagan timekeeping based on naming days of the week
for planets, a thing that is expressly forbidden in the Torah,
and is one of the 613 commandments.
Exodus 23:12 “Six days shall you do your work but on the day of
the seven you shall Sabbath; that might rest your ox and your
donkey, and refreshed may be the son of your handmaid and the
stranger; 13 and in all That I Am has said to you, be observant
and do not mark (lo-tiz'kiru) time by the names of other elohim,
neither let it be heard out of your mouth.”
John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of Truth, is come, he
will guide you into all truth, for he shall not speak of
himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and
he will reveal to you things to come.”
The command to not mark time by the names of other gods has been
disregarded by all who adhere to the perpetual cycle of seven
day weeks named for the planets, which in turn are named for
pagan deities. Messiah forewarned that it would be deceivers
(plahnes) who would get the message wrong, while proclaiming “I
Am”. Acts 27 tells us about a great Tempest that arose following
the Day of Atonement (Yom haKippurim) in the year Paul took his
fateful voyage to Rome. In recent years the word 'Tempest' has
surfaced in many ways, notably in the London Olympics it was a
main theme in the choreographed performances celebrating the
opening ceremonies. This was based on the last work of
Shakespeare, The Tempest, the story of a magician (who, in
history, was John Dee, counselor of Queen Elisabeth), who lives
on an island and avenges himself on his enemies. Bob Dylan's
latest album was called Tempest, it features a shanty about the
sinking of the Titanic over one hundred years ago. There is to
arise at the end of the Sixth Millennial day, a storm that will
effect the state of all of organized Christian religion, that
will lead to its ignominious end and total demise. This story
relates to us that those who are faithful, who do not abandon
ship prematurely, will be preserved through the transition of
the Ages, and be brought to our desired destination by duly
appointed and anointed, genuine apostolic authority, as
represented by Paul. Paul also warned the centurion that the
shipmen (Acts 27:30) not be allowed to abandon the ship, lest
all might perish. The leading edge of the ship made it to
safety.
John 10:11 “I Am is the good shepherd; the good shepherd gives
his life for the sheep; 12 but he that is an hireling, and not
the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming,
and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf catches them, and
scatters the sheep. 13 The hireling flees, because he is an
hireling and does not care for the sheep. 14 I Am the good
shepherd and know My own, and am known of mine; 15 as the Father
knows I Am, even so I Am knows the Father; and I Am lays down my
life for the sheep.”
The fleeing of the hirelings is a feature of the great end time
dealing that is to come against organized religion of all kinds.
The wolf is the Devil, in the form of the Anti-Messiah
(Anti-Christ), who comes to devour the sheep. Hirelings do not
like sheep, but they love themselves. Letting down the skiff to
save themselves shows that these last days false teachers and
thieves, will steal away all resources to protect their own as
they abandon the flock to destruction.
Note: When the word day is italicized in the text - In the Greek
of the New Covenant Scriptures, it indicates that it does not
appear in the verse in the source document. As such, this
rendering means that it is a day of a series, and not a day of
the week or month. When the word 'day' does occur in the text it
indicates a day of the week, unless it is a day of the month
(day from renewal, yom lechodesh). A series of days is referred
to in Acts 27, in verses 3, 18, and 19.
The Ends of the Ages
In this article we will examine specific phrases that bring
forth aspects of the Tempest that all are facing as we are now
encountering the ends of the ages. Acts 27:41 mentions the ship
being run aground in the place “where the two seas met”. The
word seas in Hebrew is yamim, and can also represent ages of
time. The ages of time in Scripture are according to the pattern
of the constellations in the heavens, as viewable from earth. It
takes 26,000 years or so, for our solar system to traverse our
galaxy, which is called The Milky Way. The constellations are
thirteen in number and each last about 2,000 years. Briefly,
Adam fell at the beginning of Taurus, a Bull, which ever
symbolizes the son of the birthright and blessing; the blessing
is agricultural. It was followed after by the Age of Aries, a
Ram, and begins with the days of Abram, who was to become the
friend of Elohim. The ram caught in the thicket (Gen 22:13) was
offered by Abram in the first part of the Age of Aries, which
was to endure all the way to the time of Yeshua.
Genesis 22:8 And Avraham said, “My son, Elohim will provide
Himself a lamb for a burnt offering;” so they went both of them
together.
This gives us a precedent that the stories in Holy Writ are
often prophetically intended for a future time. About two
thousand years later, Elohim would give His only begotten son,
Yeshua, to be the Lamb of Elohim, in the same place.
The Age of Pisces (fishes) follows the Age of Aries, and again,
things recorded earlier, contain prophetic portent of a future
time. The passage where Ya'aqov (Jacob) confers the blessing on
Yoseph's (Joseph) sons, Ephraim and Menashe, describes them as
multiplying in the earth as prolifically as fishes in the sea.
In blessing them, he declares:
Genesis 48:16 “The Angel that redeemed me from all evil, bless
the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my
fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude
(vayidagu lerav biq'rav) in the midst of the earth.”
The words that appear as “grow into a multitude” here, in Hebrew
mean “as fish multiply exceedingly”. The word dag means sea
creatures, primarily fishes, hence the name Pisces, which is
“fishes”. The same syllable in Germanic languages means 'day'.
So we see the prophetic picture in the words of the prophet
Jeremiah, when he declares:
Jeremiah 16:16 “Behold, I Am will send for many fishers,” says
YHVH, “and they shall fish them; and after will I Am send for
many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and
from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.”
Accordingly, we remember Yeshua called to himself his disciples,
some of whom he would make apostles, saying:
Mathew 4:19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I Am will make
you fishers of men.”
Mark 1:17 And Yeshua said to them, “Come ye after me, and I Am
will make you to become fishers of men.”
The “ends of the ages” refers to the time period when one of
these ages, transitions into the next. Visually we can see this
pictured as two wine bottles touching at the necks. The time of
transition is compared to the narrowness of the bottle necks,
and we can consider that, there, the air is pressing in on the
glass. As air is likened to spirit, the spiritual forces that
manifest in such times are substantial and greatly effect the
world they press in on. The direction is one way; things that
normally fit in the bottle of the age that is passing, will not
fit through the narrowness of the bottle neck in transition to
the next bottle. In the change of ages, institutions fail, and
so do economies. Nations, religions, the system of distribution
of goods and services, all are subjected to the prevailing
pressures of the spirit realm that is pressing in upon them.
This is what is pictured in Acts 27:41 where it states that “in
a place where two seas met,” the ship was run aground, and the
bow stuck in the sands, while the stern was broken apart by the
violence of the waves that beat against it. We shall next
examine what brings about this raging of the seas, and how that
it is violent enough to bring the man-made, religious
institutions of churches to their prophetically predetermined
conclusion.
The transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius
(the water bearer) is now at hand. When I was a child growing up
in the decade of the sixties in the previous century, if one
were to attempt to sell water to someone, they would be
considered to be a huckster, or fraud. Water was cheap,
abundant, and pure. The Age of Aquarius is a time when pure
water is precious, and water is preserved in containers, or
jars, because it is valuable. By the time of the sounding of the
Third Trumpet judgment in the book of Revelation, mankind has
entered into the Age of Aquarius.
Revelation 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a
great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell
upon the third part of the rivers and upon the fountains of
waters; 11 and the name of the star is called Wormwood; and the
third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of
the waters, because they were made bitter.
The preparation required to be safe at such a time, was given an
Age earlier in the gospel instructions that Yeshua gave to his
disciples immediately before his death, burial, and
resurrection. He was preparing to keep the feast of Unleavened
Bread (chag haMotzi) and feasts always represent the people of
Elohim meeting together with Him at His moedim (appointed
times); those who survive the transition from Pisces to
Aquarius, do likewise.
Mark 14:13 And he sent forth two of his disciples, and said unto
them, “Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man
bearing a jar of water; follow him.”
Luke 22:10 And he said to them, “Behold, when ye are entered
into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a jar of
water; follow him into the house where he enters in.”
The days at the close of the Age of Pisces are now being
characterized by multitudes of “fishes”, people calling
them-selves Ephraim, coming out of the institutions of man-made
religion, that have failed to teach the full gospel to them, of
the restoration of the tribes of Israel in exile, at the time of
the end of their long exile and the second, greater Exodus.
Indicating such things is the nuclear mishap at Fukushima,
Japan, that is killing all life in the Pacific Ocean. From the
furthest places of the earth away from the land of Israel, the
“fishes” are dying, symbolizing that it is time to fully return
to our Elohim. The long judgment against us that was to last
2,730 (7 x 390) years, is now completed.
Ezekiel 4:1 “You also, son of man, take a tile to yourself, and
lay it before yourself and portray upon it the city, even
Jerusalem, 2 and lay siege against it, and build a fort against
it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it,
and set battering rams against it round about. 3 Moreover take
to yourself an iron (Rome) pan, and set it for a wall of iron
between you and the city; and set your face against it, and it
shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This
shall be a sign to the house of Israel. 4 Also, you shall lie on
your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel (the
northern tribes) upon it: according to the number of the days
that you shall lie upon it shall you bear their iniquity; 5 for
I Am has laid upon you the years of their iniquity, according to
the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days; so shall
you bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.”
The last deportations of the northern tribes of Israel, who are
often called by any of a number of names (lost sheep, Ephraim,
northern tribes, house of Israel), occurred in the year 722-21
BC, and the conclusion of the judgment was in 2009-10 AD.
Leviticus 26:18 “And if ye will not yet for all this hearken
unto I Am, then I Am will punish you seven times more for your
sins; 19 and I Am will break the pride of your power; and I Am
will make your heaven (your thought processes) as iron
(politics; Rome), and your earth (emotional attitudes) as bronze
(culture; Greece).”
At the end of every Age, which endures for 2,000 years, comes a
third millennial day. After the two thousand years of Taurus,
came Aries; after Aries, Pisces; and after Pisces, Aquarius. Two
millennia after Abram came Yeshua, and now, after another two
millennia, we eagerly await the second coming of Messiah. From
Avraham's time, then, came the third day of the beginning of the
Age of Pisces. Next, from Messiah's first appearing, comes the
third day of the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.
Many verses in Scripture warn to be ready against the third day,
whether in a specific instance, or prophetically, against the
advent of each third millennial day, which is the coming of a
'new age'. We see this specifically in the passage of the
children of Israel before the revelation at mount Sinai and in
principle, in the laws of purity that prophetically speak
telling us all must be cleansed according to Torah, and by the
gospel of Messiah.
Exodus 19:11 And be ready against the third day; for the
third day YHVH will come down in the sight of all the people
upon mount Sinai.
Exodus 19:15 And he said to the people, “Be ready against the
third day; come not at your wives.” 16 And it came to pass on
the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and
lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of
the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in
the camp trembled.
Numbers 19:12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day,
and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he purify not
himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be
clean.
Numbers 19:19 And a clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean
on the third day, and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day
he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself
in water, and shall be clean at even.
All Flesh is as Grass
To gain further perspective of these things, we must note the
things that occurred on the third day of the recreation (Gen
1:9-13). Each word or phrase that we later encounter in our
reading of Scripture, should remind us of how and when the
pattern was first established. It should also make us look
forward to any future prophetic fulfillment of it.
Genesis 1:9 And Elohim said, “Let the waters under the heaven be
gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear;”
and it was so. 10 And Elohim called the dry land eretz (earth);
and the gathering together of the waters called He yamim (seas);
and Elohim saw that it was good. 11 And Elohim said, “Let the
earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit
tree (etz) yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in
itself, upon the earth;” and it was so. 12 And the earth brought
forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the etz
yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind; and
Elohim saw that it was good; 13 vayehi erev (and so was
evening), vayehi boqer (and so was morning) yom shalishi (lit.
day three; there was no need to add “of the week”).
The seas (yamim) and the 'dry' land were divided on the Third
Day. According to that pattern, Israel was separated from all
the peoples (amim) of the earth on the Third Millennial day.
Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and
YHVH caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that
night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Exodus 14:29 and the b'nei Israel walked upon dry land in
the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on
their right hand, and on their left.
Exodus 15:19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots
and with his horsemen into the sea, and YHVH brought again the
waters of the sea upon them; but the b'nei Israel went on dry
land in the midst of the sea.
Grass was made on the third day of the recreation, as were
trees. Prophetically this is mentioned several times in the
Scripture as a warning to not live for this world, that a time
of testing was to arrive with each third millennial day.
Psalm 37:1 A Psalm of David. Fret not yourself because of
evildoers, neither be you envious against the workers of
iniquity; 2 for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and
wither as the green herb.
Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in Your sight are but as
yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. 5 You
carried them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the
morning they are like grass that grows up; 6 in the morning it
flourishes, and grows up; in the evening it is cut down, and
withered.
Psalm 92:6 A brutish man does not know; neither does a fool
understand this. 7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when
all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall
be destroyed l'olam; 8 but You, YHVH, are most high l'olam vaed.
Psalm 103:14 For He knows our frame; he remembers that we are
dust; 15 as for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the
field, so he flourishes; 16 for the wind passes over it, and it
is gone; and the place of it shall know it no more.
James 1:9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is
exalted 10 and the rich, in that he is made low, because as the
flower of the grass he shall pass away; 11 for the sun is no
sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withers the grass and
the flower of it falls, and the grace of the fashion of it
perishes; so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Isaiah 40:6 The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What
shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness of it
is as the flower of the field; 8 the grass withers, the flower
fades; but the word of our Elohim shall stand l'olam.”
1 Peter 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man
as the flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower of it
falls away; 25 but the word of the Lord endures l'olam; and this
is the word that by the gospel is preached unto you.
The Fast: Yom Kippur
The annual Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) is commemorated by Jews
each year with the reading of Jonah. The theme of the book is
that of redemption, not only of Jews, but of all mankind, as the
wicked city Nineveh (of Assyria) was spared from judgment at the
preaching of the prophet Jonah, to which they yielded in
fasting, confessing their sin, and breaking them off. We see
several similar elements in both Acts 27 and Jonah, primarily in
chapters 1 and 2.
Jonah 1:1 Now the word of YHVH came unto Yonah ben Amittai,
saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out
against it; for their wickedness is come up before I Am.” 3 But
Yonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of YHVH,
and went down to Yoppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish;
so he paid the fare of it, and went down into it, to go with
them unto Tarshish from the presence of YHVH. 4 And YHVH sent
out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in
the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. 5 Then the
mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast
forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten
it of them; and Yonah was gone down into the sides of the ship;
and he lay, and was fast asleep. 6 So the shipmaster came to
him, and said unto him, “What meanest thou, O sleeper? Arise,
call upon your Elohim if so be that Elohim will think upon us,
that we do not perish!” 7 And they said every one to his fellow,
“Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause
this evil is upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon
Yonah. 8 Then said they unto him, “Tell us, we pray you, for
whose cause this evil is upon us? What is your occupation?” and,
“Whence comest thou? What is thy country? And of what people are
you?” 9 And he said to them, “I am an Hebrew and I fear YHVH,
the Elohim of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land”
(3rd day; Gen 1:9-10). 10 Then the men exceedingly were afraid
and said to him, “Why have you done this?” For the men knew that
he fled from the presence of YHVH, because he had told them; 11
then said they unto him, “What shall we do to you, that the sea
may be calm unto us?” for the sea wrought and was tempestuous.
12 And he said unto them, “Take me up, and cast me forth into
the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you; for I know that it
is for my sake that this great tempest is upon you. 13
Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but
they could not obtain it; for the sea wrought and was
tempestuous against them. 14 Wherefore they cried unto YHVH, and
said, “We beseech Thee, YHVH! We beseech Thee! Let us not perish
for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood; for
you, YHVH, have done as it has pleased Thee!” 15 So they took up
Yonah, and cast him forth into the sea; and the sea ceased from
her raging. 16 Then the men feared YHVH exceedingly, and offered
a sacrifice unto YHVH, and made vows. 17 Now YHVH had prepared a
great dag to swallow up Yonah. And Yonah was in the belly of the
dag three days and three nights. 2:1 Then Yonah prayed unto YHVH
his Elohim out of the belly of the dag, 2 and said, “I cried by
reason of my affliction unto YHVH, and He heard me; out of the
belly of Hell I cried, You heard my voice; 3 for You had me cast
into the abyss, in the midst of the seas; and the floods
compassed me about; all your billows and your waves passed over
me.” 4 Then I said, “I am cast out of Your sight; yet I will
look again toward Your Beit Mikdash.” 5 The waters compassed me
about, even to the soul; the depth closed me round about, the
weeds were wrapped around my head. 6 I went down to the moorings
of the mountains; the earth with her bars were about me, l'olam;
yet You have brought up my life from corruption, O YHVH my
Elohim.” 7 When my soul fainted within me, I remembered YHVH and
my prayer came in unto You, into Your Beit Mikdash: 8 Those who
observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy; 9 yet I will
sacrifice unto You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay
what I have vowed. Salvation is of YHVH.” 10 And YHVH spake unto
the dag, and it vomited out Yonah upon the dry land (the Third
Day).
Matthew 12:39 And he answered and said to them, “An evil and
adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no
sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Yonah (dove);
40 for as Yonah was three days and three nights in the dag
(Leviathan)'s belly; so shall the son of man be three days and
three nights in the heart (lev) of the earth.”
II Chronicles 6:18 “But will Elohim in very deed dwell with men
on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot
contain you; how much less this house that I have built! 19 Have
respect therefore to the prayer of Your servant, and to his
supplication, O YHVH my Elohim, to hearken unto the cry and the
prayer that Your servant prays before You; 20 that Your eyes may
be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof
You have said that You would put Your Name there; to hearken
unto the prayer that Your servant prays toward this place.
21 Hearken therefore unto the supplications of Your servant, and
of Your people Israel, that they shall make toward this place;
hear You from Your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when
You hear, forgive. 22 If a man sin against his neighbor, and an
oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come
before Your altar in this house;
23 then hear You from heaven, and do, and judge Your servants,
by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own
head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according
to his righteousness. 24 And if Your people Israel be put to the
worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against You;
and shall return and confess Your Name, and pray and make
supplication before You in this house; 25 then hear You from the
heavens, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring
them again unto the land that You gave to them and to their
fathers. 26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain,
because they have sinned against You; yet if they pray toward
this place and confess Your Name, and turn from their sin when
You do afflict them; 27 then hear You from heaven, and forgive
the sin of Your servants, and of Your people Israel, when You
have taught them the good way wherein they should walk; and send
rain upon Your land, that You have given unto Your people for an
inheritance.
28 If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if
there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillars; if their
enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever
sore, or whatsoever sickness is there; 29 then what prayer or
whatsoever supplication shall be made of any man, or of all Your
people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore, and his
own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house; 30
then hear You from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and
render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart
You know; for You alone know the hearts of the children of men;
31 that they may fear You, to walk in Your ways, so long as they
live in the land that You gave unto our fathers. 32 Moreover
concerning the stranger, who is not of Your people Israel, but
is come from a far country for Your Great Name's sake, and Your
mighty hand and Your stretched out arm; if they come and pray in
this house; 33 then hear You from the heavens, even from Your
dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls
to You for; that all people of the earth may know Your Name, and
fear You, as does Your people Israel, and may know that this
house that I have built is called by Your Name; 34 if Your
people go out to war against their enemies by the way that You
shall send them, and they pray unto You, toward this city that
You have chosen, and the house that I have built for Your Name;
35 then hear You from the heavens their prayer and their
supplication, and maintain their cause. 36 If they sin against
You, for there is no man who does not sin, and You be angry with
them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry
them away captives unto a land far off or near; 37 yet if they
bethink themselves in the land where they are carried captive,
and turn and pray unto You in the land of their captivity,
saying, “We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have behaved
wickedly;” 38 if they return to You with all their heart and
with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they
have carried them captives, and pray toward their land that You
gave unto their fathers, and toward the city that You have
chosen, and toward the house that I have built for Your Name; 39
then hear You from the heavens, even from Your dwelling place,
their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause,
and forgive Your people that have sinned against You.”
Jonah had faith in king Solomon's dedicatory prayer. He trusted
that from his dire circumstance, brought on by his own
disobedience to the Divine command, he would be heard and
delivered, even from Hell and the Grave.
Jonah 2:1 Then Yonah prayed unto YHVH his Elohim out of the
belly of the dag, 2 and said, “I cried by reason of my
affliction unto YHVH, and He heard me. Out of the belly of Hell
I cried, You heard my voice; 3 for You had me cast into the
abyss, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me
about; all your billows and your waves passed over me.” 4 Then I
said, “I am cast out of Your sight; yet I will look again toward
Your Beit Mikdash.”
He looked to the house that Solomon built, which was to be a
house of prayer for ALL nations. Daniel did likewise as he
prayed about the return of his people, the house of Yehudah, to
Jerusalem (Daniel 9). Praying toward the place where His Name
was in the land of Israel, in Jerusalem, is still an active
promise to all Israel today, and to all of men.
Isaiah 56:7 “Even them will I Am bring to My holy mountain, and
make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt offerings
and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon My altar; for My
house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”
Matthew 21:13 And said unto them, “It is written: My house shall
be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of
thieves.”
Mark 11:17 And he taught, saying unto them, “Is it not written:
My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but
ye have made it a den of thieves.”
Luke 19:46 saying unto them, “It is written: My house is the
house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”
The Coming Gospel Storm
Powerful connection is given in Jonah to the story of Paul in
Acts 27, yet for the most part, because that story is not seen
as a prophetic allegory, it is not noticed by most. Along with
the mention of a great tempest in both books, there is
significant detail given in regard to the subject of
timekeeping. Luke tells the story in Acts that happened a
certain year, in the fall of the year. The Fast is the Day of
Atonement, on which Jonah is read by Jews as the haftarah
portion for that day. All now await the anti-typical fulfillment
of the ceremonies and readings of the Day of Atonement.
The maelstrom that is coming will have to do with the importance
of a subject that is lightly regarded by many, yet greatly
controversial to others; the subject of Scriptural Timekeeping.
At the core of this great controversy will be the heart of the
faith itself, the True Gospel. Paul warned all that some would
come preaching false gospels. When we ask him, “Paul, what
gospel did you preach?” his answer is rather simple, but
profound, and not simplistic.
Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that
called you into the grace of Messiah unto another gospel 7 that
is not another; but there are some who trouble you, and would
pervert the gospel of Messiah; 8 but though we, or an angel from
heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have
preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so
say I now again: If anyone preaches any other gospel to you than
what ye have received: let him be accursed; 10 or do I now
persuade men, or Elohim? or do I seek to please men? for if I
yet sought to please men, I would not be the servant of Messiah.
1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the
gospel that I preached unto you, also that ye received, and
wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in
vain; 3 for I delivered unto you first of all that which I also
received, how that Messiah died for our sins according to the
scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the
third day (yom shalishi) according to the scriptures.
To gain understanding and insight into this, we must compare 1
Corinthians 15:4 with Acts 27:19. In each verse we see a similar
phrase, however the two are not quite the same. In the former
verse (1 Cor. 15:4) it is rendered 'the third day', whereas in
Acts 27:19 it is given as 'the third day'. In the latter verse,
the word 'day' was supplied in translation and it is not found
in the original Greek sources. This indicates Luke is writing
about a series of days. Paul, on the other hand, includes the
word 'day' in the phrase “the third day” (te trite hemera) in
Corinthians, which indicates the third day of the week. The
rabbis suggest from ancient time, that the third day of the week
was a good day to marry, because in Genesis 1:9-13, it was twice
said that all was good. In Genesis 1, the phrase “of the week”
is not necessary, as all should understand it was the week of
the recreation. Accordingly, we see this expression in the
Gospel of John:
John 2:1 And the third day (te trite hemera) there was a
marriage in Cana of Galilee and Yeshua's mother was there.
The Hebrew for the phrase “the third day” (yom shelishi) is
equivalent to the the Greek expression te trite hemera. The
problem we have inadvertently uncovered is that most bible
translations say Yeshua rose on “the first day of the week”
(Matt 28:1; Mark 16:2, 9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1, 19). Messiah
himself, using the phrase “the third day” said, the third day is
the day of the week he would arise from the dead. As such, any
gospel teaching contrary to him, is false.
Matthew 16:21 From that time forth Yeshua began to reveal to his
disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many
things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be
killed, and be raised again the third day.
Matthew 17:23 “And they shall kill him, and the third day he
shall be raised again.” And they sorrowed exceedingly.
Matthew 20:19 “And shall deliver him to the nations to mock, and
to scourge, and to crucify him; and the third day he shall rise
again.”
Matthew 27:64 “Command therefore that the t0mb be made sure
until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal
him away, and say to the people, “He is risen from the dead!” so
the last error shall be worse than the first.
Mark 9:31 For he taught his disciples and said to them, “The Son
of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill
him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.”
Mark 10:34 “And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and
shall spit upon him, and shall kill him; and the third day he
shall rise again.”
Luke 9:22 saying, “The Son of man must suffer many things, and
be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be
slain, and be raised the third day.”
Luke 18:33 “And they shall scourge him, and put him to death;
and the third day he shall rise again.”
Luke 24:7 saying, “The Son of man must be delivered into the
hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise
again.”
Luke 24:21 And we trusted that it had been he which should have
redeemed Israel; and beside all this, today is the third day (of
the week) since these things were done.”
Luke 24:46 And said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it
behooved Messiah to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third
day.”
Acts 10:38 “How Eloah anointed Yeshua of Nazareth with the ruach
haQodesh and with power; who went about doing good, and healing
all who were oppressed by the devil; for Elohim was with him; 39
and we are witnesses of all things that he did both in the land
of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a
tree; 40 him did Elohim raised up the third day, and showed him
openly.”
There is much more to say about the proof of these things that
make them incontrovertible; much has been lost since first
century Israel. The coming unveiling and distribution of the
True Gospel, that Messiah rose “the third day of the week”, and
no other, “according to the Scripture”, will cause the end of
institutional, organized church, at the end of the Age of
Pisces. What Paul wrote in Galatians 1:6-9 about those preaching
what he calls “another gospel” will soon be made manifest for
all to see. And it is this event, in the spirit realm, to which
the phrase “raging waves” refers to.
Jeremiah 31:35 Thus says YHVH, who gives the sun for a light by
day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light
by night, who divides the sea, when the waves of it roar; YHVH
Tzeva'ot is His Name.
Luke 21:25 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the
moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations,
with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;”
Jude 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame;
wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness
l'olam. 14 And Hanokh also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of
these, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his
kadoshim, 15 to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all
who are ungodly (asebeis) among them of all their ungodly deeds
(hesebesan) that they have ungodly committed (asebeis), and of
all their hard speeches that ungodly sinners (asebeis) have
spoken against him. 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking
after their own lusts; and their mouth speaks great swelling
words, holding men's persons in admiration because of advantage;
17 but, beloved, remember ye the words that were spoken before
of the apostles of our Lord Yeshua Messiah; 18 how that they
told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should
walk according to their own ungodly lusts (asebeiwn).
At the center of this coming storm, are the raging waves of
unregenerate peoples (amim), who, in their false religion refuse
the True Gospel that is made known to them. Translations have
suppressed the Truth of this long enough, and now heaven is
revealing it to us, according to the Word.
Romans 1:18 KJ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness (asebeia) and unrighteousness (adikia)
of men (anthropos) who hold (katechontwn) the truth in
unrighteousness (adikia).
Full Strength – For the wrath of Elohim is revealed from the
heavens against all sabbath rejection and false religion of
unregenerate men, who, the Truth, in false religion, do they
suppress.
Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of
heaven, having the ages-enduring gospel to preach unto those who
dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and tribe, and tongue,
and people, 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear Elohim, and give
glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come and worship
Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains
of waters.” 8 And there followed another angel, saying, “Babylon
is fallen, is fallen! that great city, because she made all
nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” 9
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If
any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in
his forehead, or in his hand, 10 the same shall drink of the
wine of the wrath of Elohim that is poured out without mixture
into the vessel of His wrath; and he shall be tormented with
fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in
the presence of the Lamb; 11 and the smoke of their torment
ascends from age to age; and they have no rest (no sabbath) day
nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever
receives the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the
kadoshim; here are those who keep the commandments of Elohim,
and the faith of Yeshua.” 13 And I heard a voice from heaven
saying to me, “Write: Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord
from now on; yea, says the Spirit, that they may rest (sabbath)
from their labors;” and their works do follow them.
The preaching of “the everlasting gospel” as it is called,
includes full disclosure of Scriptural Timekeeping, especially
as it concerns the True Gospel, distinguished from all false
gospels. Also coming is full disclosure of YHVH's Sabbath, as it
was declared by the Prophet Isaiah and quoted by Paul; this
means the true timing of His Sabbath will also be revealed. The
preaching of the “everlasting gospel” will cause great division
among those who claim belief in the bible, and this will
immediately separate those who accept what it actually says,
from those who deny it.
Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written:
“There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away
ungodliness (asebeias) from Ya'aqov; 27 for this is My covenant
unto them, when I Am shall take away their sins.”
Isaiah 59:20 “And the Redeemer shall come to Sion, and unto
those who turn from transgression (LXX asebeias) in Ya'aqov,”
says YHVH. 21 “As for I Am, this is My covenant with them,” says
YHVH; “My spirit that is upon you, and My words that I Am has
put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out
of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed's
seed,” says YHVH, “from this time forth and unto the age (ad
olam).”
2 Samuel 22:5 “When the waves of death compassed me, the floods
of Belial (lit. 'mixed seed'; KJv ungodly men; LXX asebos), made
me afraid 6 the sorrows of Hell compassed me about; the snares
of death prevented me. 7 In my distress I called upon YHVH, and
cried to my Elohim; and He heard my voice out of His Temple, and
my cry entered into His ears. 8 Then the earth shook and
trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because He
was wroth. 9 There went up a smoke out of His nostrils, and fire
out of His mouth devoured; coals were kindled by it; 10 He bowed
the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under His
feet.
Matthew 8:24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the
sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves; but he
was asleep.
Matthew 14:24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea,
tossed with waves; for the wind was contrary.
Mark 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves
beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of Elohim who
gives to all men liberally, and does not upbraid; and it shall
be given him; 6 but let him ask in faith, nothing wavering; for
he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind
and tossed; 7 for let not that man think that he shall receive
any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all
his ways.
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets;
and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 for
the perfecting of the kadoshim, for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Messiah; 13 till we all come in
the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of
Elohim, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of
the fulness of Messiah; 14 that we from this time forth be no
more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every
wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 but speaking the Truth
in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head,
Messiah; 16 from whom the whole body fitly joined together and
compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the
effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase
of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
The MegaTsunami
Great natural catastrophes are symbolic of changes that occur in
the spiritual realm. One of the effects of the tidal wave of
Truth that is breaking forth on the people of God at the change
of the ages, is a cataclysmic mega-tsunami that will sweep the
east coast of North America, to attest to it. Often New York
City is referred to as Babylon on the Hudson. No other place
outside Mesopotamia has been so named, yet today, all ships
entering New York Harbor, must line up at West Babylon, New
York, on Long Island. This is a prophetic picture of businesses,
churches, and institutions of men. The much vaunted of late
shemitah indicates a giant collapse that is soon to come, one
whose magnitude is to be determined by the level of economic
debt in the nation, which is indicative of its moral depravity.
Revelation 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a
great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the
third part of the sea became blood; 9 and the third part of the
creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the
third part of the ships were destroyed.
Jeremiah 51:42 The sea is come up upon Babylon; she is covered
with the multitude of the waves of it.
Jeremiah 51:55 Because YHVH has spoiled Babylon, and destroyed
out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great
waters, a noise of their voice is uttered;
Ezekiel 26:3 Therefore thus says Adonai YHVH; “Behold, I Am is
against you, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up
against you, as the sea causes his waves to come up.”
It is not the intent here to spend time discussing the disasters
that come on the earth at the change of the ages, rather to
point out the equally strong forces at work in the invisible
realm that accompany the natural manifestations of them. As
previously noted, the concept of the “sea of humanity” is both
biblical and ancient. The seas (yamim) are like the peoples
(amim). When heaven fully releases the truth of The Third Day,
and indeed, the full revelation of His Scriptural Timekeeping
along with it, the reaction to the Truth that has been
suppressed in bible translations and the organized, religious
institutions of men, will produce a backlash reaction with a
violent opposition being raised up by hirelings full of
themselves, full of false interpretations that had previously
been accepted as truth. Such was never given them by the spirit
of Truth, but only by convention, and the popular, common 'mind
of the people'. The false programming that had been promoted by
them for generations, comes under scrutiny brought about by the
change of the ages. The tools needed to carefully examine the
long-held errors in understanding, have been given to the
gener-ation living in such time immediately before it. The
violent response is given in metaphor as “raging waves of the
seas” in many verses of Scripture. They are stirred within
themselves by Leviathan, the spirit of Satan that is inside of
all religious works not authored and instituted by God Himself;
and whereas He has not instituted any of the works of organized
religion, indeed, He is sovereign over all of them.
Job 38:11 And said, “Hitherto shall you come, but no further;
and here shall your proud waves be stayed.”
Psalm 42:7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your
waterspouts; all Your waves and Your billows are gone over me.
Psalm 65:7 Who stills the noise of the seas, the noise of their
waves, and the tumult of the people.
Psalm 93:3 The floods have lifted up, YHVH, the floods have
lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
Psalm 88:7 Your wrath lies hard upon me, and You have afflicted
me with all Your waves. Selah.
Psalm 89:9 You rule the raging of the sea; when the waves of it
arise, You still them.
Psalm 93:4 YHVH on high is mightier than the noise of many
waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
Psalm 107:25 For He commands, and raises the stormy wind, who
lifts up the waves of it.
Psalm 107:29 He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves of it
are still.
Eventually a calm will replace the tumult, but in the wake of
devastation will be much destruction and death. The personal
attack against those who experience the full force of religious
hatred and scorn, is overwhelming to them as though one were
caught in a flood. When the actual mega-tsunami comes, few, if
any, who face it, will survive. The effect of it on a culture,
economy, and nation is total, and what is displaced will never
revert back to its former glory. Such acts of judgment are not
gleefully viewed by heaven, rather, they are lamented.
Isaiah 48:18 “O that you had hearkened to My commandments! then
had your peace been as a river, and your righteousness as the
waves of the sea.”
Zechariah 10:11 And He shall pass through the sea with
affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the
deeps of the river shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall
be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
Isaiah 27:1 In that day YHVH with His sore and great and strong
sword shall punish Leviathan the piercing serpent, even
Leviathan that crooked serpent; and He shall slay the Dragon
that is in the sea.
Revelation 12:9 And the great Dragon was cast out, that old
serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole
world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast
out with him.
Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the Dragon, that old
serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand
years, 3 and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up,
and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no
more, till the thousand years be fulfilled: and after that he
must be loosed a little season.
The casting out of the great Dragon from the heavens represents
the total limitation of his influence in the invisible realm of
spirit. The “dragon in the sea” is the perverse, depraved nature
within fallen mankind. The sixth millennial day is not unlike
the sixth day of the recreation in which man was made. Adam and
Eve fell immediately prior to the first Sabbath meeting with
Elohim, who came looking for them in the cool of the day, at the
end of the sixth day. They were hiding under the works of their
own hands, which is a picture of false religion. They were naked
and ashamed (guilty) and their works could only deceive other
fallen creatures. They had corrupted themselves and His command
for them to be ready at the appointed time for His coming.
Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew
that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and
made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of YHVH
Elohim walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and Adam
and his wife hid themselves from the presence of YHVH Elohim
among the trees of the garden. 9 And YHVH Elohim called unto
Adam, and said unto him, “Where are you?” 10 And he said, “I
heard Thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was
naked; and I hid myself.” 11 And he said, “Who told you that you
are naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I Am commanded
you that you should not eat?”
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All are in
need of His salvation.
John 9:1 And as passed by, he saw a man who was blind from his
birth; 2 and his disciples asked him, saying, “Rabbi, who
sinned? this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3
Yeshua answered, “It is not that this man sinned, or his
parents; but that the works of Elohim should be made manifest in
him. 4 I Am must work the works of Him that sent I Am while it
is day; the night comes when no man can work (by saying this, he
indicated that Sabbath had not yet begun, as night had not yet
come). 5 As long as I Am is in the world, I Am is the light of
the world.” 6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground and
made clay of the spittle, and he smeared the clay on the eyes of
the blind man, 7 and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of
Silo'am (Shiloh is sent to the people).” He went his way
therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
Genesis 49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a
lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh is come; and unto
him is the gathering of the people.
The man who was healed of his blindness 'from birth' represents
everyone. His blindness was genetic, though he, nor his parents,
had done anything to merit it as retribution for any particular
sins they may have committed. The root cause of his condition
was much deeper, and common to all men: the sin of Adam and Eve.
I Am in Yeshua was about his Father's business of reconciling
the world to Himself.
Romans 11:15 For if the casting away of them (Israel) is the
reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be,
but life from the dead?
2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that Elohim (as I Am) was in Messiah,
reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses
unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Before sabbath came, during the twilight of the evening, the man
who had been born blind was given sight by I Am. This infuriated
the religiously proud ones who were more concerned about their
interpretations of the Word, than about the purpose for which
the Word was sent. They claimed a day began at sunset, not at
night, when the stars came out. The son of man, I Am in Yeshua,
knew exactly when Shabbat begins, and he did not need to put a
fence around it as they did. Rabbinic Jews historically and as a
people, have always added their laws to His Law. After doing so,
they held others accountable to their added decrees which the
Torah itself forbids them from so doing.
Deuteronomy 12:32 Whatsoever thing I Am commands you, observe to
do it; you shall not add to it, nor take away from it.
Yeshua did not violate his Father's commandment to keep Shabbat,
though those holding the false interpretation of beginning a day
at sunset, rather than when the stars came out, vehemently
accused him of that. The conflict then, as today,
focused on when a day begins, and today this matter is still yet
to be resolved for many.
Nehemiah 4:21 So we labored in the work; and half of them held
the spears from the rising of the morning, till the stars
appeared. 22 Likewise at the same time said I to the people,
“Let every one with his servant, lodge within Jerusalem, that in
the night they may be a guard to us, and labor at daylight.”
The work did not cease at sunset (Neh 4:21) but at nightfall,
when stars appeared. Had it been the sixth day of the week, and
sunset ended the day, they would have violated Sabbath by
working until the stars came out. The idea that a day ends with
two or three stars coming out is from Torah, by the law of two
or three witnesses (Deut 17:6; 19:15) that is applied to the
timing of when a day begins, and Nehemiah verifies it in chapter
thirteen by stating that the gates of Jerusalem were to be shut
in the twilight (erev) of the day, immediately before Shabbat
begins at nightfall.
Nehemiah 13:15 In those days, I saw in Yehudah the treading of
wine presses during the Shabbat and the bringing in of sheaves,
and the lading of asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all
manner of burdens that they brought into Jerusalem on the day of
the sabbath; and I testified to them in the day wherein they
sold victuals. 16 There dwelt men of Tyre also in it, who
brought fish and all manner of wares, and sold them during
sabbath to the b'nei Yehudah, and in Jerusalem. 17 Then I
contended with the nobles of Yehudah, and said to them, “What is
this evil thing that ye do, and profane the day of Shabbat? 18
Did not your fathers do thus? and did not our Elohim
subsequently bring all this evil upon us and upon this city?
Yet, ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the Shabbat.”
19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began
to be dark, before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates be
shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the
sabbath; and I set of my servants at the gates, no burden should
be brought in during the day of the sabbath; 20 so the merchants
and sellers of all kind of wares lodged without Jerusalem once
or twice. 21 Then I testified against them, and said to them,
“Why do ye lodge about the wall? If ye do so again, I will lay
hands on you!” From that time forth came they no more on the
Sabbath. 22 And I commanded the Levi'im that they should cleanse
themselves and that they should come keep the gates, to sanctify
the day of Shabbat. Remember me, O my Eloah, this also, and
spare me according to the greatness of Your mercy.”
The religious Jews in the synagogue disqualified Yeshua from
being Messiah because he would not comply to their false ways,
as expressed by their wrong notions of when to begin Shabbat.
That Yeshua had worked a miracle at the particular time of day
(erev) was a direct challenge to their false doctrine and
halakhah. The fence they had put around 'their Sabbath' was an
addition to the Torah that YHVH had not commanded. The pattern
for this aberrant practice first occurred in the garden of Eden,
where we see Eve tell the serpent who was tempting her, “neither
shall ye touch it, lest ye die” (Gen 3:6). The words indicate
that Adam had added his fence to the commandment. To the
serpent, this addition provided a go ahead, or green light, to
make a suggestion to her, based on the addition that was not the
word of Elohim. She touched it, and did not die immediately, and
was beguiled, before eating it. She reasoned that if she
did not die as a result of touching the forbidden fruit, the
promise that was given of hidden wisdom that could be realized
if she but ate it, must also be 'true'. This is the problem with
adding to the Torah. The Jews in John 9 were being reproved for
their false additions to the Torah, though they considered
themselves to be wise.
John 9:10 Therefore said they to him, “How were your eyes
opened?” 11 He answered and said, “A man who is called Yeshua
made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said unto me, “Go to the
pool of Silo'am and wash;” and I went and washed, and I received
sight.” 12 Then said they to him, “Where is he?” He said, “I do
not know.” 13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime
was blind, 14 and it was their sabbath day when Yeshua made the
clay, and opened his eyes. 15 Then again the Pharisees also
asked him how he had received his sight. He said to them, “He
put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and do see.” 16 Therefore
some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not of Elohim because
he does not keep the sabbath day.” Others said, “How can a man
who is a sinner do such miracles?” And there was a division
among them. 17 They said to the blind man again, “What do you
say concerning him, that he has opened your eyes?” He said, “He
is a prophet.” 18 And the Jews did not believe concerning him,
that he had been blind and received his sight, so they called
for the parents of him that had received his sight, 19 and they
asked them, saying, “Is this your son? whom ye say was born
blind? How then does he now see?” 20 His parents answered them
and said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born
blind. 21 And by what means he now sees, we do not know, neither
who has opened his eyes, do we know. He is of age; ask him, he
shall speak for himself.” 22 Thus spake his parents because they
feared the Jews; for these Jews had already agreed that if any
man testify that he, (Yeshua) was the Messiah, he should be put
out of the synagogue. 23 Therefore his parents had said, “He is
of age; ask him.” 24 Then they called again for the man that was
blind, and said to him, “Give Eloah the praise: we know that
this man is a sinner.” 25 He answered and said, “I don't know if
he is a sinner or not; one thing I do know, that, whereas I was
formerly blind, now I see.” 26 Then said they to him again,
“What did he to you? How did he open your eyes?” 27 He answered
them, “I have told you already, but ye would not hear. Why do ye
want to hear it again? Do ye also want to become his disciples?”
28 Then they reviled him and said, “You are his disciple! but we
are Moses' disciples! 29 We know that Elohim spake unto Moses!
We do not know from whence this one is come.” 30 The man
answered and said to them, “Why, herein is a marvelous thing,
that ye do not know from whence he is, yet he has opened my
eyes. 31 Now we know that Eloah does not hear sinners; yet if
any man is Theosebes (keeps Shabbat to Eloah) and does His will;
him He hears. 32 Since the world began it was not heard that any
man ever opened the eyes of one who was born blind; 33 if this
man were not of Elohim, he could do nothing.” 34 They answered
and said to him, “You were altogether born in sins, and you
would teach us?” And they cast him outside.
The subtleties of this passage minimize the real point of
conflict here; and the bad translations of it further bury the
truth that is contained in it, in the original language. The
spiritual warfare here, depicted a continuation of what had
already occurred in John, chapter 8. That exchange caused these
Jews to forbid others from receiving Yeshua for who he was,
Messiah, the son of the Living Elohim (Matt 16:16). They were
falsely dividing people away from the echad unity that is
expressed in the Sh'ma (Deut 6:4), that is repeated three times
daily in prayer (Shachrit, Minchah, and Ma'ariv; four on Sabbath
and Feast days; the fourth, Mussaf). Yeshua manifested the
correct interpretation of when a day begins, by challenging
their addition to Torah. He thus contradicted their Sabbath, but
not YHVH's Sabbath. He did not violate His Father's command, and
as a result, heaven honored Yeshua by healing the man who was
born blind from birth, a miracle only Messiah could do. Yeshua
told the man who was given his sight to wash in the pool of
Silo'am, which word in Greek contains the Hebrew word for
'people'; Messiah was sent to the people. The Jews said he was
not Messiah, this miracle proved he was the promised Messiah, as
it fulfilled the prophecy (Gen 49:10).
Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O YHVH, You are our Father; we are the
clay; and You, our potter; and we all are the work of Your
hand.”
The mixing of spittle and clay was a creative miracle, and it
showed Messiah as co-creator with YHVH, his Father.
Jeremiah 18:1 The word that came to Jeremiah from YHVH, saying,
2 “Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I Am will
cause you to hear My words.” 3 Then I went down to the potter's
house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the
vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the
potter; so he made it again another vessel, as it seemed good to
the potter to make. 5 Then the word of YHVH came to me, saying,
6 “O house of Israel, cannot I Am do with you as this potter?”
says YHVH. “Behold, as the clay in the potter's hand, so are ye
in My hand, O house of Israel. 7 At whatever instance I Am shall
speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck
up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; 8 if that nation,
against whom I Am has pronounced, turn from their evil, I Am
will repent of the evil that I Am thought to do to them; 9 and
at what instance I Am shall speak concerning a nation, and
concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; 10 if it do evil
in My sight, that it willl not obey My voice then I Am will
repent of the good wherewith I Am said I Am would benefit them.
11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, “Thus says YHVH: Behold, I Am
frames evil against you, and devise a device against you. Return
ye now every one from his evil way and make your ways and your
doings good.” 12 And they said, “There is no hope (no second
exodus); and we will walk after our own devisings, and we will
every one continue to do the imagination of his evil heart.” 13
Therefore thus says YHVH: “Ask ye now among the heathen who have
heard of such things? The virgin of Israel has done an
exceedingly horrible thing. 14 Will a man leave the snow of
Lebanon that comes from the rock of the field? or shall the cold
flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken? 15
because My people have forgotten I Am, they have burned incense
to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways
from the ancient paths, to walk in side-paths, not in paved
paths; 16 to make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing;
every one that passes thereby shall be astonished and wag his
head. 17 I Am will scatter them as with an east wind before the
enemy; I Am will show them the back and not the face, in the day
of their calamity.” 18 Then said they, “Come, and let us devise
devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the
priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the
prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us
not give heed to any of his words.”
Isaiah 58:12 “And those of you shall build the ancient ruins;
you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you
shall be called the repairers of the breach; the returnees to
the native ways of Sabbath, 13 if you shall turn your foot from
doing your pleasure on My holy day of Shabbat and call holy the
Shabbat of YHVH, a delight, honor-able, and shall honor Him not
doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking
your own words.”
Jeremiah 6:13 “For from the least of them, even unto the
greatest of them, every one is given over to covetousness; and
from the prophet even unto the priest every one deals falsely
with one another. 14 They have also ever so lightly healed the
hurt of the daughter of My people, saying, “Shalom, Shalom!”
when there is no shalom. 15 Were they ashamed when they had
committed abomination? No, they were not ashamed at all, even
neither could they blush, therefore they shall fall among those
who fall at the time I Am visits them, they shall be cast down,”
says YHVH. 16 Thus says YHVH: “Stand ye in the ways, and
see, and ask for the ancient paths wherein is the good way, and
walk in it, and ye shall find rest for your souls.” But they
said, “We will not walk therein.” 17 I Am also set watchmen over
you, who said, “Hearken to the sound of the trumpet!” But they
said, “We will not hearken.” 18 Therefore hear ye nations, and
know O congregation that is among them.” 19 Hear, O earth:
“Behold, I Am will bring evil upon this people, the fruit of
their thoughts, because they have not hearkened to My words, nor
to My Torah, but rejected it.”
There is but one more relevant element pertaining to Paul's
shipwreck, on his way to Rome. In Acts 28:3, Paul is gathering a
bundle of sticks together to lay on a fire, upon which a deadly
viper fastens on his hand. For those who already are aware of
the parable of the two sticks in Ezekiel 37, this should come as
no surprise.
Ezekiel 37:16 “Moreover, you son of man, take yourself one
stick, and write upon it: for Yehudah and for the children of
Israel, his companions; then take another stick and write upon
it: for Yoseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the house of
Israel, his companions; 17 and join them one to another into one
stick and they shall become one (echad) in your hand. 18 And
when the children of your people speak to you, saying, “Will you
not reveal to us what you mean by these things?” 19 say to them:
“Thus says Adonai YHVH: “Behold, I Am will take the stick (etz)
of Yoseph, that is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of
Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the
stick (etz) of Yehudah, and make them one (echad) stick (etz),
and they shall be one (echad) in My hand. 20 And the sticks
where upon you write shall be in your hand before their eyes. 21
And say unto them: “Thus says Adonai YHVH: “Behold, I Am will
take the b'nei Israel from among the nations, where they are
gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into
their own land; 22 and I Am will make them one nation in the
land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to
them all; and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall
they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all; 23 neither
shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with
their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions;
and I Am will save them out of all their sabbathing-places,
wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them; so shall they
be My people, and I Am will be their Elohim. 24 and My beloved
servant a king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd;
they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes,
and do them; 25 and they shall dwell in the land that I Am has
given unto Ya'aqov My servant wherein your fathers have dwelt;
and they shall dwell in it, even they and their children, and
their children's children l'olam ad olam; and My beloved
servant, be their prince l'olam. 26 Moreover I Am will make a
covenant of shalom with them; it shall be an ages-enduring
covenant with them; and I Am will place them, and multiply them,
and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them ad olam. 27 My
tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I Am will be their
Elohim, and they shall be My people. 28 And the heathen shall
know That I Am does sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be
in the midst of them ad olam.”
All long for the echad unity of the spirit to manifest among His
children, but this will only happen, according as it is written.
The division that religious ones make is caused by a lack of
spiritual discernment, a discernment that those engaged in the
practice of man-made religion are not interested in promoting,
as it would destroy their works. The Father sent His son to
reconcile Israel, and mankind, back to Himself, if they are
willing. His children will be willing and the door is open to
all those who would enter therein. Yeshua Messiah is that Door
of Hope, and even now I Am stands at the door of hearts and
knocks, desiring to enter and dine with those within; the
Serpent attacks without.
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I Am stands at the door and knocks; if
anyone hears I Am's voice and opens the door, I Am will come in
to him, and will dine with him, and he with I Am.”
Hosea 2:15 “And I Am will give her her vineyards from thence,
and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she shall sing
there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she
came up out of the land of Egypt.”
Shir haShirim 8:5 Who is this that comes up from the wilderness,
leaning upon her beloved? I Am awoke you there under the apple
tree; there your mother was in travail with you; there, she
travailed and brought you forth.
Luke 13:24 “Strive to enter in at the strait gate; for many, I
Am says unto you, many will seek to enter in and shall not be
able 25 when once the master of the house is risen up, and has
shut the door; and ye begin to stand outside and to knock at the
door, saying, “Lord! Lord!? Open to us!” and he shall answer and
say to you, “I Am does not know you, from whence ye are.”
