"DP & Bev..... losing your daughter"

RE:  http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/july2016/dp731.htm

Asking the Lord God Jehovah, the Creator of us all, to surround you, protect & guide you & comfort you as only He can!!

There are just no words……. Most of us cannot begin to fathom or touch your raw pain.

Right now don’t even worry about producing the right words to pray to the Lord, as all that you are at this moment IS a prayer to Him!!  Your tears, your pain….. your agony, your shredded hearts.

You are blessed in that you have such support from family & friends, many who care about you.  Yet, people will not always say the right thing.  Some may even not show up or say anything, please don’t hold this against them as not everybody has the gift of encouragement & some shy away simply because they don’t know WHAT to say.

As time wanes, it’ll be easy (gratis satan…. Who LOVES to steal, kill and destroy)  to start tossing out hints of blame against each other or perhaps other family members as well.  Please do not take satan’s bait!  Even when he was out to tempt the Lord Jesus ~ and didn’t get his way ~ the Bible says he would plan to come again at a more “opportune time”.

So don’t forget your Ephesians armor even right now!  As this vulnerable time could also be a significant “opportune time” for satanic attacks….. against your minds, against each other….

Don’t expect to snap back just right away.  Well-meaning people will request this of you, though you well know life will never be the same.  That doesn’t mean that forever you will cry, it just means everyone experiences stages of grief and the way we handle it in different ways & at different times.  Be sure to seek our support, perhaps your church offers a grief support ministry?  Or you can surely find one online.  A word of caution, be careful about giving out too much personal information.  Just a head’s up because wacky world we live in.  Do not give into wanting to sleep off the depression or turning to the bottle in times of intense pain & loneliness.  No man is an island and there are others who care and can understand what you are going through.  And will be willing to help.  In my humble opinion, an arm around your shoulders from a friend willing to listen beats popping pills from a psychiatrist any day!   {I speak partly due to experience as my cousin experienced something similar a handful of years back.}

You are on the Lord’s Mind and in His heart.  He cares!  He deeply loves you,  No, no, no, do not blame Him!  Easy to do, yet be vigilant in keeping in mind that He grants everybody free will.  You may never gain 100% of the answers about Brittany and the why’s and how’s on this side of heaven.  But your job anyway is to put one foot in front of the other & KEEP TRUSTING AND FOLLOWING the Lord no matter what.  Let Him share all your pain.

I will close here for now as there are many others here who will want to communicate their sympathy as well.  We are very, very sorry for the loss of your daughter, Brittany!

All the more, we pray that the Lord Jesus WILL come soon!!!!   Amen!!

Psalm 23  Contemporary English Version (CEV)

(A psalm by David.)

The Good Shepherd

23 You, Lord, are my shepherd.
I will never be in need.
You let me rest in fields
    of green grass.
You lead me to streams
of peaceful water,
    and you refresh my life.

You are true to your name,
    and you lead me
    along the right paths.
I may walk through valleys
as dark as death,
    but I won’t be afraid.
You are with me,
    and your shepherd’s rod[a]
    makes me feel safe.

You treat me to a feast,
    while my enemies watch.
You honor me as your guest,
    and you fill my cup
    until it overflows.
Your kindness and love
will always be with me
    each day of my life,
    and I will live forever
    in your house, Lord.
