Did all believers in this age of grace think that Jesus could return in their time?  Obviously, there was a 'plan' of 2,000 years (2 'days') for this age, and then the last 1,000 years of the 7,000 year 'week'. Did anyone understand this or is it just apparent as we are in the final days? It seems that it could have been understood, just as the Jews could have known the time of Jesus' first coming. So, was there immanency for previous believers other than the uncertainty of when they would see death?
