How Beautiful are the
Feet
Romans
10:15, “And how shall they preach,
except they be sent? as it is
written, How
beautiful are the feet of them
that preach the gospel of peace, and
bring glad tidings of good things!”
The Bible says that the
feet of those who preach the Gospel
of Jesus Christ are beautiful. This
speaks of the Soul Winner. Proverb
11:30, “The fruit of the righteous
is a tree of life; and he that
winneth souls is wise.”
It is interesting that God calls the
“feet” beautiful. God could have
called the lips beautiful, or the
mouth; but he said, “the feet.” Why
the feet? It's because it is with
one's feet that they carry the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to lost
sinners.
The
most eloquent speaker in all the
world is useless if he has idle
feet. The most charming person, who
may possess a great wealth of Bible
knowledge, is useless if he or she
is unwilling to take the message of
Christ crucified to lost sinners.
The praise goes to the Soul Winner
who brings the Good News of Christ
crucified and risen to lost sinners.
Jesus confronted the Samaritan woman
in John 4:7-26 with the Gospel. God
told Philip to confront the
Ethiopian Eunuch with the Gospel in
Acts 8:29. In Mark 16:15, Jesus
said, “GO ye into
all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature.” Sadly, very few
believers today are Soul Winners.
The reason why is because very few
Christian leaders teach about
eternal punishment anymore, which is
virtually a denial of the Christian
faith altogether.
Biblical
Mandate to Go Soulwinning
Although there is a call to
leadership within a church, there is
no call to be a Soul Winner. Every
believer is commanded to preach the
Gospel. Proverb 11:30 says they who
win souls are wise. The believer who
fails to share the Gospel with
others is foolish. Hell is real,
life is short, and people need to be
born-again to escape the wrath of
God (John 3:36; Romans 5:9; 2nd
Thessalonians 1:8-9).
Philippians 2:16
warns that any labor done for Christ
not involving the preaching of the
Gospel is void. You have done
nothing for God. There is no
rejoicing in Heaven in the presence
of the angels (Luke 15:10), because
no one is getting saved. Philippians
2:16, “Holding forth the word of
life; that I may rejoice in the
day of Christ, that I have not run
in vain, neither laboured in
vain.” The Gospel of Jesus
Christ is the Word of Life
(Ephesians 1:13).
There are many,
most in fact, religious and
charitable organizations in the
world today which couldn't care less
about preaching the Gospel (i.e.,
the good news) of Jesus Christ
crucified, buried and risen. Jesus
is the Son of God, the Christ (John
20:31). By faith we become the
children of God (Galatians 3:26). It
is Jesus' precious literal blood
that washes our sins away (1st John
1:7; Hebrews 9:12; Revelation 1:5).
God deliver us
from apostate religious groups that
are doing much more harm to the
cause of Christ than good. The main
cause of Christ is getting people
saved. America doesn't need any more
churches, pastors, religious
seminaries, televangelists, Bible
scholars or preachers; America needs
SOUL-WINNERS!!! In Mark 1:17 Jesus
said He would make His disciples to
become “fishers of men.” Amen!
2nd
Corinthians 5:10 teaches that every
believer will give account to God at
The Judgment Seat of Christ,
for the good AND the bad done in our
earthly body. The next verse says,
“Knowing therefore the TERROR
OF THE LORD, we persuade
men...” This Scripture is
seldom preached about. God is going
to judge each believer concerning
the effort they spend, or failed to
spend, to get lost sinners saved
with the Gospel. 1st Corinthians
3:7-8 plainly teaches that God will
give EVERY believer his OWN reward,
according to his OWN labour.
The very notion that Jesus only
intended for His Apostles to preach
the Gospel, or called pastors today,
is unbiblical. The Bible never says
that only ministers are to preach
the Gospel. The Gospel is truth and
Ephesians 4:25 says, “speak
every man truth with his
neighbour.” People need to
hear about the Lord and how to be
saved. Proverb
14:25, “A true witness delivereth
souls: but a deceitful witness
speaketh lies.”
Laying Up
Treasures in Heaven
Hell is a literal place that burns
with fire. Revelation 21:8 speaks
about the “second death” and the
“lake which burns with fire and
brimstone.” Why would God only want
Christian leaders to preach the
Gospel, when even a child can share
the good news of Christ crucified
with lost sinners? It makes me want
to go vomit when I see countless
multitudes of fans praising singer Michael
W. Smith,
It is my heart's desire for you to
become a Soul Winner, that others
may be saved, and that you may “lay
up for yourselves treasures in
Heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where
thieves do not break through nor
steal” (Matthew 6:20). What a
wonderful investment opportunity! We
hear so much advertising on TV about
premiere investment opportunities in
real estate, gold and so forth; but
the only eternal investment you can
make is by laying up treasures in
Heaven by serving God.
The greatest treasures of all in
Heaven, will be the souls of those
who were saved through our
soulwinning efforts. Certainly, we
cannot save anybody, for salvation
is of the Lord; but God uses the
yielded Christian as a vehicle by
which the Gospel is preached unto
the lost (1st Corinthians 3:6-8).
This is why God calls the Soul
Winner's feet, “beautiful.”
Every Christian is commanded by God
to preach the Gospel. How do you
preach the Gospel? By simply telling
someone how you got saved. It's that
simple. We are SINNERS and Jesus is
the SAVIOR. Salvation happens when a
person acknowledges their guilt of
sin, and comes to God on that basis;
believing on Jesus, the Christ, the
Son of God, to forgive their sins
(Acts 10:43).
Salvation is as simple as walking
through a door. Jesus said in John
10:9, “I am the door: by me if any
man enter in, he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out, and find
pasture.”
Also, consider Luke 8:11-15, the
Parable of the Seeds...
“And that
which fell among thorns are they,
which, when they have heard, go
forth, and are choked with cares
and riches and pleasures of this
life, and bring no fruit to
perfection. But that on the good
ground are they, which in an
honest and good heart, having
heard the word, keep it, and bring
forth fruit with patience” (Luke
8:14-15).
Jesus
said that he who has “an honest and
good heart” obeys the Scriptures and
brings forth much fruit. This again
speaks of the Soul Winner. A believer
who loves Jesus Christ, and
understands that eternal punishment
awaits all Christ-rejecting sinners,
will have a burden for lost souls.
There is not enough teaching of
eternal punishment from today's church
pulpits. Consequently, few believers
have a burden for lost souls anymore,
and so few believers go soulwinning.
The Bible plainly teaches that the
seeds which fell upon good ground
became Soul Winners.
You don't need to attend religious
seminary (most of which are
cemeteries) in order to be a Soul
Winner. You just need to know how you
got saved yourself. Most people
errantly think they have to DO
something to merit Heaven; but the
Bible says it's all DONE, by Jesus'
work of redemption. Salvation is
ceasing from our own self-righteous
works, and resting in the redemptive
work of Jesus Christ.
Most professed Christians today have
ugly feet, because they have no burden
for lost souls, and fail to take the
Gospel to those who desperately need
it. I challenge you, whoever you may
be, to have beautiful feet.
