It is written,
A Message for Gog
1This is another message that came to me from the Lord: 2“Son
of man, turn and face Gog of the land of Magog, the prince who rules
over the nations of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. 3Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: Gog, I am your enemy! 4I
will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out with
your whole army—your horses and charioteers in full armor and a great
horde armed with shields and swords. 5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libyaa will join you, too, with all their weapons. 6Gomer and all its armies will also join you, along with the armies of Beth-togarmah from the distant north, and many others.

1Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 2And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: 3And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. 4Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD. 6And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. 8Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
9And
they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set
on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the
bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall
burn them with fire seven years: 10So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any
out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they
shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them,
saith the Lord GOD.
Here,
it is vitally important to note that verse 9 in no way proves a seven
year long “time of Jacob’s trouble.” The Hebrew word used for time can
be translated thusly:
7Alas! for that day is great,
So that none is like it;
And it is a time of trouble unto Jacob,
But out of it shall he be saved.

Now,
let us reason together. The date is Monday afternoon, 1:00 pm PDT [ten
hours behind Jerusalem], 28 July 2014, which makes it now 2 Av 5774 in
Jerusalem, as it is now 11 pm, Monday evening there.
The LORD is scheduled to return on or about 10 Tishrei 5776, which is Yom Kippur in the Jubilee year to announce such.
Since
the time that remains before His return is about two months and a year,
then we see that a time of trouble unto Jacob must be around two months
and a year or less. That doesn’t leave much time for fence sitters.
It is written,
Parable of the Rich Fool
13Then someone called from the crowd, “Teacher, please tell my brother to divide our father’s estate with me.”
14Jesus replied, “Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?” 15Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”
16Then he told them a story: “A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops. 17He said to himself, ‘What should I do? I don’t have room for all my crops.’ 18Then
he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then
I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. 19And
I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored
away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’
20“But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’
21“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”

That
quote is from Jim Elliot, who was a Christian missionary to native
tribes in South America. As a Christian, he believed in eternal
salvation and life after death. He was a missionary in a dangerous
place, where he could easily die.
Everyone dies. No one lives
forever. So Jim did not think it was a great sacrifice to give his life
to God as a missionary, since he was promised eternal life and a
relationship with God that could not be taken away.
Jim was saying:
he is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep (life on this Earth) to gain what he can not lose (eternal salvation).
