This is a follow up post, to some writing on this topic at the following site. Here, you will find the words to the song referred to in the first paragraph. It is my belief that this is vital for this day and age to understand, especially in light of the recent debates on Pre-trib vs. Post trib/ Mid trib, that are dividing the church even farther.=======================================================================================During the Protestant reformation, the Protestant sects eliminated much of the teaching on the saints, lumping all who are believers into this category. The Only "protestant" group, holding onto the catholic teachings is the Anglican Church, from where this song came from above. They, however, are not a true "protestant church" as they were transformed for political reasons. So what is the truth? The Protestants rightly saw the error in the intercessory prayer to the saints in the catholic church. As a reaction to this idolatry, they managed to wipe out a large segment of teaching in the word of God that distinguishes between the saints, and the followers of Jesus. The saints by definition are a set apart group of people in the church. The Qualification for this is being called by the Lord, and then Chosen by Lot from the Church. 2 Peter, is directly addressed to this group, as is indicated by the very first verse, and the first teaching on making your calling and election sure. Many are called, few are chosen. This is the "high calling of the saints". Though distinct from other believers, The saints are no better than those that are called. They are not to be worshipped, prayed to or even canonized, Which means to glorify them. THEIR GLORIFICATION IS DONE BY THE LORD, NOT BY MAN. Any saint would rebuke those who would seek to glorify them. The Problem is, with this teaching missing in these protestant churches there is a divisiveness due to the varying callings of the faith. The Pre-trib vs mid-trib debate just being one of many. Until this distinction is reinserted into the church, then the denominationalism and splintering of the church will continue, and the Will of God is not being done. Pride, however, is the obstacle to this ever occurring. Each church sect right now claims their own denomination as the true church. Even among the "alternative" nondenominational sects, there is the exclusiveness of being "Philadelphians". These are all positions of arrogance and pride. The Only way this distinction can work, is the understanding that this choice is of divine origin, and not based on merit, but rather by lot. It is not exclusive to any one church, and any believer who is called, can be chosen. The Chosen person is no more superior, except in the preparation they will undergo from the Holy Spirit in their lives. Now Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 14:33 the following: "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." Most "protestant" versions of the Bible leave that last line on saints out. "WHY"? It is there in the Greek, and in the KJV from which the above is quoted. Even my ESV that I use has changed the use of the Word "Hagios" to something other than saints. Why is this teaching so hidden. The Catholics have changed this to worship and idolatry of saints, while the Protestants ignore and conceal this difference. This is because The Catholic church is the Whore of Babylon, and the Protestant churches, being largely reactionary are her daughters. It also serves to keep the believers in these churches suckling on the milk instead of eating the meat that is provided for the saints. My calling here to all, is to search the scriptures, and find that meat, that is the teachings on becoming saints. Be wary of the catholic teachings, as that is all you will find on the internet on the subject. "Sola scriptura" as the Protestants used to promote is the only way to discover this.God Bless
