Gerlinda, sometimes when there is moisture in the air but a fairly clear sky otherwise, the moon will appear as if refracted into prisms.

I have a picture in my living room of a hexagonal six sided moon (so it appeared that night).  The picture was taken by our friend in Bellevue WA,
who was awakened by news from his Jewish neighbor that a grandson had been born.  Our friend went out on his porch in the dark night to look
at the lights shining from the neighbor's window, and saw the hexagonal appearing moon.  It is not a "beautiful" picture but it is a reminder of a wonderful
Christian friend who died some time ago..

Perhaps your moon with the eight rays is another refraction due to atmospheric conditions.

We thought our moon might be miraculous, but actually i have seen again the hexagonal moon when conditions are just right.  Nevertheless, it was a great
welcome to the neighbor's grandson.

I have also seen the blood red moon of a few seasons back, around December as I recall.
