I'm going to have to keep this short due to computer issues I am presently experiencing..:(

I think maybe you and I are talking about 2 types of pharisees.  I was referring to the *power structure elites*, not the every day Jews who were following their religion.

It was the power structure that very well knew they were doing wrong.  Christ called them hypocrites, synagogue of satan, and vipers for a REASON.  Don't forget Christ was able to HEAR peoples' thoughts...that's how He knew what frauds the elites were.  I doubt He would have called them those names if He thought for one moment that 'they' actually *thought* they were doing right.

You will recall Jesus turning over the money changers' tables at the Temple.  The power elite pharisees were like today's elites who manipulate banking and have the power to arrest and put some in jail or to death:  liars, thieves, and murderers.  There is nothing new under the sun.
