"Can't see the tribulation without a program"

(I’m not sure whether I wrote about this before - if I have, I’m sorry, but I’m writing this, now, none the less)

I’ve seen a lot of charts of the tribulation.

Some of the older ones were done by Clarence Larkin, who actually did a phenomenal job with all his charts.

I’ve then seen a number of charts that were done in the 70’s.

I’ve seen some recent ones, as well.

I also tried some myself, but they were more still in my head, and didn’t make it so well onto paper.

When reading through Revelation 16, I thought about those guys that sell the programs at the theater.

Those guys would walk around the crowd, advertising what they sold.

They would shout, “Program heayh! Program heayh! Can’t see the show without a program!”

(the “heayh” being a more urban pronunciation of “here”)

That’s when I thought about this being like someone saying about the charts:

“Program here - program here – can’t see the tribulation without a program!”

That may help sell more of our charts, but can that work this way?

Right at the peak & climax of the tribulation, are the following two lines in Revelation 16, about the battle of Armageddon:

Revelation 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world,

to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

This will have been after seven seals, after seven trumpets, and after 6 vials.

There will have been many judgments, plagues, and signs by this point.

The bulk of the tribulation will have already passed.

The forces of the beast and the ten kings will be soon facing the return of Jesus from heaven.

You would think that everyone would know “what’s going” on & “what time it is”.

However, right in the middle of those two lines about the battle of Armageddon (14 & 16), is line 15:

Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

It sure looks like Jesus is going to catch them all off guard.

Even right at that moment when they will have gathered their forces at Armageddon, Jesus still says that he comes as a thief!

They won’t see it coming, until it is upon them, when he suddenly returns from heaven, wiping them out.

So even if we make a zillion charts, putting them near mount Megiddo, or in the capitols of the nations of the world,

and handing them all out for free, it won’t make a difference for those he comes as a thief to.

It boggles my imagination to consider that even at that moment he can still come as a thief.

It also looks there will be those who are watching, though, right up to the last moment, which is good to know.
