"Blood Vengeance"

It looks like there is going to be some blood vengeance coming up.

Revelation 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

At the 3rd vial of wrath, people will be given blood to drink, because they will have shed the blood of saints and prophets.

Revelation 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

The great whore, Babylon, is seen drunken with blood, with the blood of the saints and the martyrs of Jesus.

Revelation 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Then in her is found blood, not only of the prophets and saints, but it says the blood of all that were slain upon the earth.

That is amazing, since all that blood wasn’t shed by her, or even in her land.

Yet it all comes upon her.

If someone thinks that can’t be done, well it happened once before:

Matthew 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Luke 11:50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

All the righteous blood shed on the earth, from Abel, before the flood, until Israel, when Zacharias was slain between the temple and the altar, came upon one generation of Jews in 70 A.D.

Abel’s blood wasn’t shed by a Jew in Jerusalem, nor was it necessarily shed in the land of Israel.

The LORD can do as he desires, in applying all that blood to a single generation.

Is it possible that because the atonement made by Jesus, applied all the way back to Abel, that generation that slew Jesus, then became responsible for all the righteous blood, by killing him?

Interesting how it was from Abel to Zacharias, “A” to “Z”, rather than alpha to omega, perhaps something that would particularly speak to us in the last days.

Revelation 19:2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

Then, in a similar way, the great whore has the blood of all that were slain upon the earth.

If America is Babylon, it would seem right enough, considering that America has shed the blood of 50 to 60 million unborn children.

However, there may be more. Perhaps, before it is over, she becomes a great persecutor of Christians, maybe one of the worst.

None the less, whatever the reasons are for applying all that blood to the great whore, it still is going to happen.

How can those in Babylon then escape the vengeance of blood?

In Israel, under the law, there was a way to flee from the revenger of blood:

Numbers 35:11 Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.

12 And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

There is a city, that if the person can reach, they have safe refuge, unless they are found blood guilty.

19 The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

If the slayer is found by the revenger of blood, then he is slain by the revenger of blood, himself.

25 And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

The person that is found to be not blood guilty is then allowed to safely remain in the city of refuge, until the death of the high priest.

Now all of us, until we are saved, are guilty of the blood of Jesus, because he was slain bearing our sins.

When we are saved, the blood of the Lamb of God cleanses us of all sin, and while we are still here, Christ is our refuge.

However, at the blessed hope, we go to that place that Jesus promised to prepare for us.

Is it not that city, which is now in heaven? (Later,  in Revelation 21 that city comes down from heaven, but now it is in heaven).

Is that heavenly city, then, to be our city of refuge, where we are safe from revenger of blood?

We are to remain safe in the city until the death of the high priest, but our High Priest abides forever, after the order of Melchisedec, so we never have to leave!

27 And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:

However, for the lost, they are still guilty of the blood of Jesus, and they cannot reach the city of refuge.

They will therefore be found by the revenger of blood.

The LORD, himself, is the revenger of blood, the revenger of the blood of Jesus.

Did the LORD not say that vengeance is his, that he will repay?

Then there is a condition that must be met:

30 Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.

There must be two or three witnesses in order for the murderer to be put to death:

Deuteronomy 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

Two or three witnesses needed for the death sentence.

Deuteronomy 19:15 ¶ One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

Two or three witnesses needed

John 8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

The Son and the Father are two witnesses.

Hebrews 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

The Holy Ghost is the third witness.

I John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

The LORD, himself, is all three witnesses, necessary for the sentence of death, the second death.

So, the lost in Babylon will have nowhere to flee, or to hide, from the revenger of blood.

They will be found blood guilty, and will perish.
