Got a funny experience to share re this situation of the Pharisees being blind
 
I went on a trip to Israel in 92 for a dig by the Dead Sea
On the plane I sat with a friend who had to sit in the smoking section in the back of the big 747
There were a lot of Orthodox Jews on that plane
Got in to a discussion about keeping all the law
 
This is how they explained it
No one can keep all the law, oh except for this one Rabi in New York.
He is dead now, they thought he was the Messiah
Perhaps some of you remember
Well, anyway, this is how the Jewish community keeps the law
They divide it up to different synagogues
So each one has a different law they focus on
So in that way they think corporately they keep the law
Sounds funny, but it is true
 
Anyway pharisees aren't just Jews, there some of us too
That is what keeps some seekers away
Hollywood has been doing a pretty good job of making us all look like that too
