Hi Gerlinda,
Thank you for your kind words. Do bear in mind that apologetics and theology are above my pay grade. I depend on others to educate me on these matters.
I have always been uncomfortable with the Church as the Bride of Christ. Try as I may, I just can't see it. Yet, every brother and sister in Christ is utterly convicted that the Church is the Bride. So, I toddle through my Christian walk feeling guilty that I can't see this.
Likewise the wretched virgins. i'll have to wait for eternity to discover who and/or what they are since no two on earth seem to agree on their identity or meaning.
I think you would enjoy Bullinger's Commentary on Revelation. Here is a copy of my post to Steven King. It includes a link to Bullinger's commentary. If you search the book for "bride", you will obtain everything he has to say on the subject.
Steven King (15 July 2013) "Bob Anderson: "re: Charles Holler ... The Devils Algebra"" Hi Steve,
I enjoy your site. "Iron sharpens iron". You might want to post the following link on the Forum:
This is Bullinger's commentary on Revelation. It has something for everyone to disagree with. It is a challenging read. I disagree with much of it, but I'm hard pressed indeed to substantiate my disagreements.
I'm seeking partners to analyze this work. So far, no one has volunteered.
Maranatha,
Bob
