"Gino, "Behold I come as a thief" might not be Jesus talking there"

Hey Gino,

Just want to suggest something here regarding your post:

Wherein you have this:
_________________________________________

Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

It sure looks like Jesus is going to catch them all off guard.

I have a different suggestion that you may like to consider about this passage. I know that it has been assumed that Jesus is speaking these words and in many "red letter" Bibles where Jesus' words are printed in red, this verse is red. However, I don't believe that this is Jesus speaking and nowhere in the text does it say it is Jesus speaking.

I believe the focus is still on the three unclean spirits like frogs as they are gathering people from all over the world to the battle of Armageddon using miracles and coming like a thief to randomly take people and if they happen to be physically, literally naked, like in the shower or whatever, then they will be "raptured" or "taken" that way and show up on the plain of Megiddo naked and they will see their shame. So then the ones that they also take who are clothed will feel happy or "blessed" that they were not naked when they got taken. Read it like that now and see if it makes better sense:

Revelation 16:
 13.  And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
 14.  For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
 15.  Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
 16.  And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

If you just read it like it is and take the red ink off it makes sense in context.
What sort of miracle would it be that gathers people this way? A counterfeit rapture. This is the one that I believe Jesus was referring to when he said two would be in a bed, two grinding, two in a field, and in each case one taken the other left, which so many have thought is our rapture but when the disciples ask Jesus in Luke, where they are taken, Jesus answers to the battle of Armageddon, basically.

Had he been referring to our rapture then Paul could not have said behold I show you a mystery because he was saying that he was about to reveal something new that has not yet been revealed so Jesus could not have been speaking about our rapture and yet he does describe a rapture but a sideways one to the supper of the great God.

Revelation 19:
 17.  And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
 18.  That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

Here is where Jesus describes this event:

Luke 17:
 34.  I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
 35.  Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
 36.  Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
 37.  And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

"the body is" is a word that means specifically dead body as fallen in battle. This perfectly describes the battle of Armageddon and the miracle that these unclean spirits will use to get people there to die and the fouls feed on the dead.

Revelation 19 speaks of the other supper too which is also attended by being raptured and also mentions the clothing worn and you also get there by being called and that is the marriage supper of the Lamb:

Revelation 19:
 7.  Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
 8.  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9.  And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

We have a choice of which supper to attend. Hope to see you at the marriage supper of the Lamb.
