“Syria” is one of my most common Google News searches.  I am always wanting to get past the ‘fluff’ articles and just get to the focus on the escalating war in the Mid East.  This search usually gets my fix for the important news of the day.
 
What I have been noticing is a strong and I mean really strong sense of the ‘restrainer’ at work.  I believe that restrainer should have a capital “R” there, but I find it hard to believe that the Holy Spirit in this situation is actively keeping a tyrant in power.  I’ll leave that argument for the Doves to settle.
 
Back to the ‘restraining.’
 
Does anyone feel the same; see the same? Does anyone feel the powerful force that is keeping this humanitarian mess from really moving forward or coming to a conclusion?  The pace in Syria is so incredibly slow compared to Tunisia, Egypt and especially Libya.   Is Assad really in control of this situation?  Obviously not, but it seems there is a much bigger force that is holding the house of cards from collapsing upon him. 

My faith grows even stronger watching, even though very painful, the day to day control that our Father has on these last days.  Especially in Syria, which seems to be the open wound allowing us to ‘peek into’ the real situation.
