Jack Kinsella - Omega Letter Editor

When the Lord called Grant Jeffrey home, he was in the final stages of completing his last book, ''One Nation, Under Attack'' but there were still a few minor edits to be made, and a few citations to be footnoted before it could go to press.

Under ordinary circumstances, once the book itself has been 'put to bed' so to speak, the next step is to publicize it. This is where a book either makes it or doesn't - assuming that the book itself is good.

Publicity makes the difference between success and failure -- more so than whether or not the book is even any good. Grant's last book is exceptional -- I want to do all I can to get it in front of as many readers as is possible.

Personally, I've written two books that went nowhere, primarily because I went with an unknown publisher. So I shouldn't be surprised that I ended up with unknown books now out of print.

On the other hand, maybe my books just weren't any good -- who knows?

But I digress. . . Grant's book was published by a reputable publisher (Waterbrook -- a division of Random House) and so the publicity tour was already baked into the cake. In any case, a few weeks after Grant's promotion to Glory, I received a phone call from Grant's wife, Kaye.

Gayle and I have been friends with Grant and Kaye for almost twenty years. Over the years, when times were lean, Grant would hire me to do research for him. The fact of the matter is, Grant always did his own research.

This was Grant's way of helping us over some of the rough spots without it being obvious charity. Grant even wrote the foreword for my first book, "The Eternal Generation" in 1995.

The last time I saw Grant, we met in a restaurant in Mississauga where we discussed "One Nation, Under Attack", what it was about, and where he intended to take it.

So when Kaye called me and asked me if I would pick up where Grant left off on the book project and see it through the publicity phase, I took it as a rhetorical question. I would be honored.

So we knuckled down, Kaye, an editor Grant had worked with in the past, and me --and between us, we managed to fill in the missing blanks and polish the overall manuscript well before the July 6 deadline.

I was notified this week by the publisher that we are now moving to Stage Two, starting today with an interview about the book that I will be giving to a writer for Charisma magazine.

This isn't about me or anything to do with me or the Omega Letter or anything I have going on in my world. This is about my friend and colleague, Grant Jeffrey and his last, and I believe, his very best book.

And so, before embarking on this project, I ask you humbly if you will pray for me. Pray that I don't forget my role as the messenger. Pray that I do a better job publicizing Grant than I do for myself, as that is my intention.

As most of you know by now, I am the world's worst at self-promotion, but this is about Grant. Pray that the Holy Spirit will empower and guide me, as these are unfamiliar waters. Pray that I don't say anything that will inadvertently embarrass Grant, his book, the mission or the ministry.

As long as I know you have my back going in, then Grant's book should carry me the rest of the way. Like I said, it's a real page-turner.

Assessment:

I got the galley proof from the publisher last week and the first interview is today around lunchtime. I'm oddly nervous, but I think that's mostly because of the circumstances. It is a little weird to stand in as a surrogate for somebody else, especially someone who has passed away so unexpectedly.

But the book should carry the day without my help. All I really need to do is read off some of the chapter headings. It opens under the heading, "There is Far More at Stake Than Most of Us Realize" -- and Grant proceeds to demonstrate just HOW much is at stake.

This is what I do for a living. Comparing the signs of the times with the daily headlines to get some sense of how far along God's prophetic timetable occupies most of my day, every day, six days per week. I thought I KNEW what was at stake -- until I read this chapter.

Grant's last book is also his boldest -- it is almost as if he knew it would be his last and he had to cut to the chase without mincing words. Chapter One is headed, "Now is the Time to Prepare for America's Fall" with the subtitle, "Things Have Gone Too Far to Reverse the Slide."

In that first chapter, Grant examines the political upheaval in the Muslim world, including the loss of Egypt as a reliable Western ally -- and what it means for the future by looking at what God's prophets had to say from their perspective in the distant past.

Chapter Two examines "The American Empire's Final Collapse -- The Full-Scale Rush to Economic Armageddon". I found that subtitle particularly prescient, given that since Grant's death, the word "Taxmageddon" was coined to describe the expiration of the "Bush" tax cuts together with the automatic spending cuts that will be triggered come January 1.

Before being called to ministry, Grant Jeffrey made his fortune as a financial underwriter, insurance executive and financial advisor. He brings that knowledge and experience to bear under the subheading, "How America has Guaranteed Its Own Destruction" citing the impossible size of the national debt and why it can never, ever be repaid.

Chapter Three explains "Why the Government Lies to You About the Economy" and tackles what Grant calls the "insanity" of the "Tax the Rich" mantra. He explains why runaway inflation is inevitable as a consequence of the enormous influx of new money created by QE1 and QE2 and why the tax code ensures America's ultimate financial collapse.

Grant's Chapter Four, "A Defense of American Exceptionalism" explains WHY America is exceptional, and why secularists like Barack Obama deny it. As Grant documents in his book, America is exceptional because until recently, it enjoyed God's blessing and umbrella of protection.

Grant demonstrates, using recent history, that America's umbrella is closing and the Divine Hand of protection is being withdrawn as American secularists continue to advance the weird theory that our rights are guaranteed by a God that does not exist, all the while demanding those rights be respected.

In his subsequent chapters, Grant gets downright practical, explaining "Your Future in an American Police State" and how "The Federal Government Has Stolen Your Rights in the Name of Protecting You."

Chapter Seven deals with "China's Strategy for Controlling the US Economy", while Chapter Eight examines how "America's Enemies Choose Their Point of Attack" .

But Grant's book goes where most prophecy books fear to tread. Grant doesn't just tell you the Lord is coming and leave you to figure out what to do next. Chapter 9 , "How to Protect Your Family from the Looming Economic Collapse" is filled with real-world tips on what to do in order to mitigate the damage from what he describes in Chapter Ten; "America's Fall and the Rise of Antichrist."

Finally, Chapter Eleven discusses "America After the Meltdown", closing with the same verse of Scriptural advice with which he opened the book.

"Set thy house in order." (2 Kings 20:1)

I will begin publicizing the book today -- the book's release date is October 9th. You can preorder your copy of the book directly from Grant's website. And please, remember to keep me in your prayers.

Maranatha!
