"Rapture
"nerd" /parable of "first frost" and explanation of
the end of the season."
Dear Brother John Tng, and all Beloved Doves
I wanted to write to those of you who may have lukewarm
relatives as we all have some I suppose.
My wife is born again, but a bit of a Christian "scoffer" who is
not nearly as excited about the rapture as I am. I can not
understand this and she has labled me a "rapture nerd" or
"rapture geek" or something to that effect, saying that I am
obsessed with the rapture - a badge of honor.
She always says I have been preaching the nearness of the
rapture for over 10 yrs and I am always wrong - I used to
tell her even a broken clock is right once a day - but now I
have taken up a new parable that I tell her that you might use
to explain to your loved ones HOW VERY CLOSE WE ARE!!!
I call it "first frost"
Most places in the northern hemisphere experience first frost in
the season of autumn or fall. We don't know when the day
of first frost will come, just like we don't know the day or the
hour of the rapture. Sometimes first frost comes early in
fall, sometimes late - but it always comes in the same season.
My point to my wife was this, when I first started preaching
about the rapture, we were perhaps very early in the season -
first frost could have come, but it didn't. Now we are late in
the season and first frost (the rapture) MUST come because this
season will not last forever, winter is coming.
But do not miss the point WE ARE IN THE SEASON - AND WE ARE NOW
VERY LATE IN THAT SEASON - THAT DAY (THE RAPTURE) MUST BE COMING
VERY SOON!
I hope this helps and encourages someone!
Maranatha!
