Hello, John and Doves,The Bible, God's everlasting Word, clearly states,
The Son Superior to Angels
1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. 3The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
5For to which of the angels did God ever say,
“You are my Son;
today I have become your Fathera”b?
Or again,
“I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son”c?
6And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
“Let all God’s angels worship him.”d
7In speaking of the angels he says,
“He makes his angels winds,
his servants flames of fire.”e
8But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.”f
10He also says,
“In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
11They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
12You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.”g
13To which of the angels did God ever say,
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet”h?
14Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Footnotes:
a 5 Or have begotten you
b 5 Psalm 2:7
c 5 2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chron. 17:13
d 6 Deut. 32:43 (see Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint)
e 7 Psalm 104:4
f 9 Psalm 45:6,7
g 12 Psalm 102:25-27
h 13 Psalm 110:1
Since angels are ministering spirits, their form is not fixed, but variable, accommodating to the need of the petitioner. However, each one is known of God, whatever their form, at any time. Adonai Elohim (Exodus 3:15) is the Lord GOD of Hosts (Jeremiah 46:10).~Blessings,Mike C._______________________________________________________Lilly Star (31 July 2012)
"Question about angels"
Hi, thank you for your responses on my last post about my rapture dreams:). I have been pondering this...I truly believe that Gods angels watch over us. I've had several experiences...one where after I got saved appeared as a light ( I was living with my bf at the time and there was a darkness around him, he did not believe) anyways, the light said "we need you to be strong today" it turns out, that day truly changed my whole life...and I saw first hand the spiritual battle we go through. Anyways, I've been asking God if I could see an angel ...since I've read so many stories. I've kind of given up, thinking maybe I'm just not spiritual enough? Or maybe I would pass out from fear?..Anyways! Over the weekend we were talking to my nephew, and he asked if there are "female" angels. My husband immediately said no....that there are no female angels ever mentioned in the bible. It kind of made me feel sad. Do any of you know the answer to this? And if there are female angels, why are they never mentioned? . I know some of you might say, well, they have no gender. But that's not true...as the fallen angels had to be men to mate with the women on earth. I know Eve was created from Adam...but in one scripture , the "created them" in His image, implies women as well as men. Thank you for your thoughts! Lilly star.
