A whole chapter in my first book is devoted to "DAY OF THE CROSS".Dr. Ehlert, head of BIOLA's Library at the time, helped me find the resources I needed. To start off with, he showed me where I could find an unpublished Th.D thesis written by Leslie P. Madison at Dallas Theological Seminary, 1963, “Problems of Chronology in the Life of Christ.” That was helpful so I would not have to retrace his steps.AFTER SIFTING THROUGH MANY BOOKS IN THE BIOLA LIBRARY'S SEMINARY COLLECTION ON THE SUBJECT OF THE DATE OF THE CRUCIFIXION, HERE IS WHAT I BELIEVEI think Jesus was crucified on Thursday, Nisan 13, 3790 (April 6, 30 AD, Julian) the preparation of the Passover. The next day, the Passover, was a high day, an annual Sabbath, Friday, Nisan 14, 3790 (April 7, 30 AD, Julian).SCRIPTURE IS CLEAR THAT THE PASSOVER WAS STILL FUTURE ON THE DAY OF THE CRUCIFIXIONJohn_18:28 says, "Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover."John_19:14 says, "And it (i.e., the day of judgment and crucifixion) was the PREPARATION OF THE PASSOVER, and about the sixth hour (Roman time, 9 AM): and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!"The Feast of Passover was Friday, Nisan 14 (April 7, 30 AD).Because of Jewish Calendar rules in use today, the Passover can only fall on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. Therefore, the preparation of the Passover can only fall on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. This rules out a Wednesday crucifixion if the Sanhedrin went by this rule in 30 AD."A special committee of the Sanhedrin, with its president as chairman, had the
mandate to regulate and balance the solar with the lunar years. This so-called
Calendar Council (Sod Haibbur) calculated the beginnings of the seasons (Tekufoth)
on the basis of astronomical figures which had been HANDED DOWN AS A
TRADITION OF OLD. . ." (Spier, The Comprehensive Hebrew Calendar, p.1).
Spier tells us what the Jews had to do in the fourth century to preserve the calendar. He asserts:
"This method of observation and intercalation was in use throughout the period of
the second temple (516 B.C.E.-70 C.E.), and about three centuries after its destruc-
tion, as long as there was an independent Sanhedrin. In the FOURTH CENTURY,
however, when oppression and persecution threatened the continued existence of
the Sanhedrin, the patriarch Hillel II took an extraordinary step to PRESERVE
THE UNITY OF ISRAEL. In order to PREVENT the Jews scattered all over the
surface of the earth from celebrating their new moons, festivals and holidays at
DIFFERENT TIMES, he made PUBLIC the system of calendar calculation which
up to then had been a CLOSELY GUARDED SECRET. . . .
"In accordance with this system, Hillel II formally sanctified all months in advance,
and intercalated all future leap years until such time as a new, recognized Sanhedrin
would be established in Israel" (p.2)."
These facts confirm the usage of the Hebrew calendar calculations to ascertain the dates of Passover, and the other holy days and new moons, in the years before Hillel II, including the holy day dates during the time of Jesus Christ.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread was Saturday, Nisan 15 (April 8, 30 AD).The Resurrection on the Feast of Firstfruits was Sunday, Nisan 16 (April 9, which is probably also the date on our Gregorian Calendar of the Second Advent in 2016). Jesus going to Heaven and coming back AGAIN on April 9 in 30 AD is a good clue.A sheaf of barley was waved Sunday, April 9. It represented Christ, the seed (Gen 3:15), and the Old Testament saints that Jesus took to Heaven that day. Afterward, he returned to Earth. He could not be touched early in the morning before he made that trip. He could be touched that evening after he returned.Eph_4:8 says, "Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men."Jesus was in the heart of the earth 3 days and 3 nights, Thursday (day), Friday (night then day), Saturday (night then day) and Sunday (night). To keep it straight in our heads, we have to remember that their 12 hours of night preceded their 12 hours of day. Otherwise, we can skip a whole day in our thinking. Their days start at 6 PM on our previous day and end at the following 6 PM.ACCORDING TO JEWISH WRITINGS, JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED "ON THE EVE OF PESAH" ( THE DAY BEFORE PASSOVER)In the "Tractate Sanhedrin" in the Babylonian Talmud (Sanhedrin 43a GBT VII, page 181; SBT p 281), it says, “ON THE EVE OF PESAH THEY HUNG JESHU [the Nazarene]. And the crier went forth before him forty days (saying), ‘[Jeshu the Nazarene] goeth forth to be stoned, because he hath practiced magic and deceived and led astray Israel. Any one who knoweth aught in his favour, let him come and declare concerning him. And they found naught in his favour. And THEY HUNG HIM ON THE EVE OF PESAH.” (Herford, Robert Travers. Christianity in Talmud and Midrash. N.J. Reference Book Publishers, 1966, p. 48, 62, 83, 348.)Here are the first 2 entries when I searched on Google just now, so this information is readily available now.

The Eve of Passover in 30 AD was Thursday. We can figure out that 30 AD (Julian) was the year of the Crucifixion another way.
Jesus was conceived on Kislev 24, the Eve of Hannukah on the Hebrew Calendar, and was born on the following Tishri 1, the Feast of Trumpets.
Hag 2:18,19 says, "Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month (Kislev), even from the day that the foundation (Jesus) of the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it. 19 Is the seed (Jesus, Gen 3:15) yet in the barn? (a saying meaning is she pregnant) yea (YES), as yet the vine (Jesus), and the fig tree (Israel), and the pomegranate (meaning the upright), and the olive tree (i.e., Israel with us grafted in), hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you."On that Feast of Trumpets (Sept 4, 5 BC, Julian), the sign of Rev 12 was in the sky. Virgo was clothed with the Sun and the New Crescent Moon was at her feet. Therefore, I think Jesus was born on Sept 4, 5 BC.Note: When you use YourSky for BC years, remember that the astronomers put in a zero year. Therefore, set it for year –4 when you want –5.
Jesus was baptized when near 30 in 26 AD. That was his age when he began his ministry. That was the 15th year of Tiberius, who became Co-Rex with Alexander in 12 AD. I found a coin minted in 13 AD that had the head of Tiberius on one side and the head of Augustus on the other side. They were Co-Rex from 12 AD until Augustus died in 14 AD. Then Tiberius became Sole-Rex.
Herod started building the Temple in 20/19 BC. It was 46 years under construction in 27 AD, during the Sabbatic Year of 3787, that preceded the Jubilee Year of 3788 (28 AD).
The Sabbatic Year has to be divisible by 7 equally. Sabbatic years are 3780, 3787 and 3794.
Jesus was baptized near his birthday, the Feast of Trumpets, Tishri 1, 3786.
The Hebrew year 3787 was the Sabbatic Year when Jesus stood up in the Synagogue in Nazareth near his birthday (i.e., on the Day of Atonement) and read Isa 61:1,2, stopping after "To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."
The acceptable year of the LORD was the coming Jubilee Year 3788. It was announced on or near the Day of Atonement, Tishri 10, 3787, and started on the following Nisan 1. In 26 AD, the Day of Atonement was Wed, Sept 9. Therefore, Jesus went to the synagogue on Saturday, Sept 12, 26 AD, Tishri 13, 3787.Luke 4:16-21 says, "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."26 AD, Hebrew 3786, 15th year of Tiberius, Jesus baptized near his 30th birthday (26 + 5 – 1 [no zero yr] = 30)27 AD, Hebrew 3787, Sabbatic Year, 1st Passover of Jesus' ministry28 AD, Hebrew 3788, Jubilee Year, 2nd Passover of Jesus' ministry29 AD, Hebrew 3789, 3rd Passover of Jesus' ministry30 AD, Hebrew 3790, 4th Passover of Jesus' ministry, one day after the Crucifixion on the Preparation of the Passover
