"I heard a shofar
blast twice today!"
I was in a dressing room today trying something on and my mind
was only on my shopping excursion at the moment. Out of nowhere,
I heard a distant shofar blast!! I literally froze! My
heart racing, I hunched down to the floor to worship in the
changing room because my heart was about to burst with
excitement. After about a minute, I stood up again and began to
wonder if maybe I was just hearing things, that my mind was
playing tricks on me because it seemed so out of the ordinary!
Slowly, I began to continue with what I was doing while
listening for any strange sounds that might have explained it
away. A few minutes later, I heard it again! Like it was
far away but in my head. I almost asked "did anyone else just
hear that?!!" I was giddy and worshiped God all the way home.
When I got home, I googled to see if other people had heard a
shofar before and found several entries online over the past few
years. After listening to some youtubes of shofars, I identified
the sound I heard as the Shevarim. Look it up on youtube to see
what it sounded like. I believe it's a warning? My mother
suggested my ears were ringing. I thought that was pretty funny
because I know the difference between ringing ears and trumpet
sounds.
Any thoughts?
