"Correction/ Study of the prophet Joel concerning the Gog Magog war, the Holy Spirit and the rapture"

John, correction to the post I just sent...

This is the study on Joel that I posted on July 12th.  http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/july2012/bruceb712.htm

In it I showed that the Holy Spirit and the gift of prophecy would be poured out after the war of Gog and Magog.  It shows the invasion of a northern army and afterwards, the gift of prophecy given to both the young and the old.

Joel 2:20

20 “But I will remove far from you the northern army,
And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,
With his face toward the eastern sea
And his back toward the western sea;
His stench will come up,
And his foul odor will rise,
Because he has done monstrous things.”

Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

We are told in Joel 1:15 that this prophecy concerning the northern invasion concerns the Day of the Lord!  It is referring to something that has happened at no other time in history.  In fact Joel 1:2 says:

Hear this, you elders,
And give ear, all you inhabitants of the land!
Has anything like this happened in your days,
Or even in the days of your fathers?

Now look at this passage which might  (or might not) be a clue as to the timing of the rapture.  Following the destruction of the northern army, prosperity given to Israel and the Holy Spirit poured out...

                Joel 2:15

New King James Version (NKJV)

                         15 Blow the trumpet in Zion,
                   Consecrate a fast,
                   Call a sacred assembly;

Joel 2:16

16 Gather the people,
Sanctify the congregation,
Assemble the elders,
Gather the children and nursing babes;
Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber,
And the bride from her dressing room.

Isn't it odd that a trumpet blast is given and then there is mention of a bridegroom and bride?

Something to look at and study.  All the clues might be here.  If the rapture does have to do with the northern invasion and then afterwards the Holy Spirit being poured out, then I still don't think it could be far off.

The destruction of Damascus has to come first... and it looks imminent.  That in itself could be the hook that draws the northern army.
