The purpose of this study is to consider if the Biblical
Tribulation Period is 7 years, all-inclusive or just 3.5 years,
as in 1260 days or 42 months. This question about the topic is
just as much in dispute as the timing of the Rapture,
Dispensationalism, Once Saved Always Saved and other points of
contention and interpretation within Christendom. One will only
be offering one’s understanding and interpretation thus far.
Yes, both Daniel and Revelation specify a period of 1260 days or
42 months or 3.5 years.
The issue or question is, is it 1 period only? Or is it
more than just 1 period of 1260 days? What is concrete is that a
specific duration of time is marked by a 1260-day count. This
3.5- year or 42-month period of days is certain. The issue is
that it is not known what the start date is and if it is only 1
period. We can only speculate about that at best. So, is the
entire Tribulation Period 7 years long or only 3.5 years long?
In one’s estimation, it is both. How so?
The overlooked clue is the word ‘midst’ that is not being
factored or considered correctly in the whole context of the
entire prophecy, in one’s estimation. Here is why one believes
that the entire Tribulation Period is a set of 2 periods of 1260
days for a total of 2520 days, all-inclusive. And this does not
include the 45 days (1290 days) and 75 additional days (1330)
thereafter considering that it is also part of the prophecy of
Daniel, etc.
Although, both Daniel and Revelation specify an exact period of
1260 days, they are in context of what Daniel’s prophecy is all
about, Weeks of Years. And this is always based on a factor of
7. It is never a half of a 7- or 3.5-year factor of time. It
deals with the Shemitah counts, which are 7 years long, etc. The
other supposition to be factored into the prophetic equation
that is often overlooked is how the breaking of the Seals by the
Lamb must occur at the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation
Period.
One must realize that the Seal Judgments start off with the
debut of the AntiChrist. This character pertains to the Rider of
the White Horse. One rejects the notion that this is Jesus
Christ or when the Rapture is to occur. This AntiChrist rider on
a white horse is confused for Jesus that comes at the end of the
Tribulation, also on a white horse, etc. So, a time-frame of
only 1 period of 1260 days or 1 half of a 1260-day Tribulation
Period cannot accommodate the entire scope of the 7-fold Seal
Judgments. Note that in the Book of Revelation is where it gives
a bit more insight as to when this occurs as it coincides and
collaborates with Daniel.
In the ‘midst of the week’
In one’s interpretation, this is what lends credence to how
the false ‘Peace and Security’ occurs during the 1st half,
42-month long Tribulation Period of 1260 days or 3.5 years. It
is a run-up to the Great Tribulation where the AntiChrist takes
off where Jesus Christ left off. Here are the prophetic
dichotomy apparently occurring in a chiastic manner and
millennia apart. This is only a supposed timeline based on this
dual model. Note the symmetry of April 14 for 32 AD, Nisan 10 on
2030 AD and Passover in 2033.
If Nov 1, 28 AD Yom Kippur (Proclamation of Jubilee by
true Messiah, Jesus.)
+1260 Days = April 14, 32 AD (Crucifixion or ‘cutting-off’ of
true Messiah, Jesus.)

The issue or problem is that Jesus cannot be the same person
that stops the Daily Sacrifices in the ‘midst’ of the prophetic
week, as that is not what occurred when Jesus was crucified. In
fact, the Daily Sacrifices continued in the 2nd Temple for 38
years until its destruction in 70 AD. This is why one is very
open to the technicality that the Tribulation Period is 3.5
years, so long as that is correctly designated to continue as
being the 2nd half of the entire prophetic Week of Years given
to Daniel. The following are the Scriptures that speak to a
3.5-year duration of time or 42 months or 1260 days.
DANIEL 7:25
The Little Horn Power will persecute the Saints for ‘a Time
and Times and the dividing of Time’.
(A ‘Time’ = 1 Year.) [A total of 3.5 years or 1260
days based on a 30-day month count.]
DANIEL 12:7
The Power of the Holy People [Israel] will be shattered for ‘a
Time, Times, and a half [Time].
REVELATION 11:2-3
But exclude the Courtyard outside the [3rd] Temple. Do not
measure it, because it has been given over to the Nations, and
they will trample the Holy City for 42 months. And I will
empower my 2 Witnesses, and they will prophecy for 1,260 days,
clothed in sackcloth.
In one’s interpretation, the 1st section or half of the 7-Year
Tribulation of 1260 days is when the Temple Mount will be as an
‘Ecumenical World Heritage Site’. It will be established by the
AntiChrist false Jewish Messiah that will play that role,
deceptively. It is then at the halfway time marker or the start
of the 2nd half when the 2 Witnesses will carry the Gospel Torch
from the 144,000 Jewish Evangelists. So, this supposition that
the Tribulation Period is only a 1260-day count starts not
taking into account when the ‘midst’ of the week is to occur,
yet it is factored right in its very DNA.
REVELATION 12:6-7
And the Woman fled into the Wilderness, where GOD had prepared
a place for her to be nourished for 1,260 days [3.5 years].
Then a war broke out in Heaven: Michael and his Angels fought
against the Dragon, and the Dragon and his Angels fought
back.…
Which Messiah?
Thus, one argues that it is precisely that the midpoint of
the 7-year ‘week’ is when the dual prophecy of Messiah
intersects the past with the future inflection. It is where the
AntiChrist takes-off where Jesus Christ left-off, being ‘cut
off’ or killed. Notice also that both will die as in the case of
the AntiChrist. Apparently, he will mimic a 'death and
resurrection' due to receiving a ‘mortal blow’.
But one’s point is that it will be the AntiChrist on the 1260th
day when he will cease or stop the Daily Sacrifices. It is from
this point going forward that the Great Tribulation of 1260 days
begins. Here is the breakdown of this prophetic
intersectionality, defined and delineated, in one’s estimation
back then and soon after the Rapture event. It is an issue of a
compounded prophecy just like the Revelation 12 Sign.
1) The 490-year prophecy given to Daniel is divided into 7
weeks (49 years), 62 weeks (434 years), and 1 week (7 years).
These pieces of data are indisputable.
2) The timeline begins with the decree to restore and rebuild
Jerusalem. One has argued that it is the 3rd one of the 4
Royal Decrees and the only one specifying the city, not the
Temple. This was in -445 BC by Artaxerxes II, son of Esther
and Artaxerxes I. This time-frame corresponds to 32 AD.
3) The prophecy is that the Messiah #1 (Jesus Christ) would
come after 7 and 62 weeks (483 years total). This is when the
Messiah was to have been 'cut off' or put to death.
4 Then Messiah #2 (AntiChrist) would appear during the final
week. This is the last 7 years of the prophecy and is
associated with the Covenant being strengthened with the Many
or L’Rabbim. One is convinced it will be the Law of Moses and
amongst the Elders of Zion. This initiates the start of the
Daily Sacrifices but are stopped at the ‘midst’ of the Week or
that of a 7 or a that the 3.5-year marker. This is where, in
one’s interpretation, the confusion arises from.
The point is that to have a ‘midst’ time-frame of a prophetic
‘week’ implies that it is or must be a set of 2 times of a
1260-day period or as would a regular week in a calendar. You
cannot have just ‘half-a-week’ and consider that to be a full
measure of time pertinent to what defines a week of a month.
This would thus, also project-out to ‘weeks of years’ to imply
that the remaining 70th week of Daniel is indeed a 7-year
duration.
A) Sunday to Wednesday is the 1st half.
B) Wednesday to Saturday would be the 2nd half.
This is why one is convinced that the whole time-period of the
70th Week of Daniel must be a 7-year period, all inclusive,
otherwise the 70 years x 7 times to equal 490 prophetic years
does not and will not square-up. Here are the Daniel 9:24-27
scriptural portions dealing with the Tribulation Period in their
entirety for context.
DANIEL 9:24
70 Weeks are determined upon thy People and upon thy Holy
City, to finish the Transgression, and to make an end of Sins,
and to make reconciliation for Iniquity, and to bring in
Everlasting Righteousness, and to seal up the Vision and
Prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
DANIEL 9:25
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of
the Commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the
Messiah the Prince shall be 7 Weeks, and threescore [A Score
is 20 years.] and 2 weeks: the street shall be built again,
and the wall, even in troublous times.
DANIEL 9:26
And after threescore and 2 weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but
not for himself: and the People of the Prince that shall come
shall destroy the City and the Sanctuary; and the end thereof
shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations
are determined.
DANIEL 9:27
And he shall confirm the Covenant with many [L’Rabbim] for 1
Week [7 days or years]: and in the midst [Middle or the
halfway point] of the Week he shall cause the Sacrifice and
the Oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of
Abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the
desolate.
Note the word (Week) in the Strongs: h7620 = Sabua as in 7, a
period of 7, etc.
Note the word (Midst) in Strongs: h2677 = Hesi as in the
middle of something, 2 halves, etc.
Also consider the 7-fold Menorah pattern of this 70 Week
Prophecy. It is like the 7-fold revelation given to John about
the Church Age. In the same vein of thought, you cannot only say
that the entire Church Age is only 3.5 Churches worth. The
Arch-Angel Gabriel tells Daniel that 70 Weeks (or 70 sets of 7
years, totaling 490 years was to pertain to the all-inclusive
prophecy regarding Israel, Jerusalem and the Temple primary.
This is why also; one is convinced that the 7-fold Church Age is
an ‘Intermission’ in-between the 69th and the 70th Week. But
precisely, it is a 7-fold prophecy still playing-out even now
and after the Rapture and ultimately fulfilled when Jesus,
Messiah #1 returns.
1-decreed for your People and your Holy City
2-to stop their Transgression,
3-to put an end to Sin,
4-to make atonement for iniquity,
5-to bring in Everlasting Righteousness,
6-to seal up Vision and Prophecy, and
7-to anoint the Most Holy Place.
And it is why the Church Age Believers and Followers of Israel’s
true Messiah; Jesus cannot allow His mostly Gentile Bride 1
second into what pertains to the full measure of Jecob’s Trouble
or discipline yet to be fully completed. Once this Church Age
‘Pentecostal’ Intermission is concluded, the final 7-years or
week pertains to what Israel, not the Church Body, still owes
Jehovah for not keeping the Sabbath of the Land.
Also, part of the confusion that the Tribulation Period is only
3.5 years comes into play in how it is at the halfway marker or
the ‘midst’, or at the 1260th day is when Jehovah allows the
AntiChrist to have absolute and total power on Earth for the
next 1260 days or 42 months or 3.5 years, etc. This is when the
‘Reign of Terror’ or the ‘Great Tribulation' for that 3.5-year
period is unleashed. It will be genocide against the Jews and
the entire world. This is when the Mark of the Beast will be
mandated.
Week of Years
It is at the midpoint of the 70th Week or the 7-years
when the Woman flees to Petra, etc. For a 3.5-year Tribulation
Period to work, it must be the case that the Temple is already
fully built, and the Daily Sacrifices have commenced for them to
then be stopped 3.5 years from whenever they started. What is
also problematic about the Tribulation Period, only being 3.5
years, is how it must account for a lot of details that need to
occur beyond a reasonable 3.5-year time-frame. You must have
Israel living in ‘Peace and Security’ for 1 Week or 7 years as
that is what the Covenant is to be strengthened for initially.
Then you must account for the ‘Peace and Security’ that
will be so profound, that all the walled cities of Israel will
be taken down. Then you must account for the 7 years that the
weapons will be used for fuel as a direct result of the
Gog-Magog invasion of Israel. But to be fair, we have discussed
in Daniel’s Week that one should consider that the ‘midst’ is
based on a dual prophecy, a chiasm occurring in tandem but
fulfilled millennia apart in 2 Christs or Messiahs, Jesus Christ
and the AntiChrist. One can see how the 1st 1260 days of Jesus’
Ministry was that 1st part of the 3.5 years as Jesus was
‘cut-off’ in the ‘midst of the Week’.
As for the 70 Weeks of Years? If you ask a Jew what a ‘week’
means, they will assuredly say, that is a period of a 7. That is
also a key supposition supporting one’s theory of why Jesus had
to be and was crucified on a Wednesday, the ‘midst’ of the 7-day
week. This start of the 2nd half of the prophetic week of Daniel
picks-up with the Daily Sacrifices stopped precisely at the
halfway point where the subsequent 3.5 years of the ‘Great’
Tribulation starts from.
So, again, this demands a half of something, a duality of time,
thus for the ‘midst’ to be valid and true to only account for a
3.5 year or 1260-day Tribulation Period time-frame, you must
have an equal number of days prior to this inflection point in
time to be considered starting from a ‘midst’ or halfway point.
Thus, using deductive logic, it is reasonable to assume that
when the Daily Sacrifices are stopped, it is insinuating that a
prior equal period of 1260 days had or has transpired.
Thus, by definition, this same amount of 1260 days had
pre-existed to make it the halfway point or the ‘midst’ of
something. In this case, one is thus more convinced that the
dual prophecy of Daniel and Revelation is a 7-year Tribulation
Period, all inclusive of the Great Tribulation that is an equal
time of 3.5 years or 1260 days or 42 months. The Great
Tribulation is what characterizes the 2nd half to complete the
last Week of Years per the 490-year prophecy given to
Daniel.
Summary
The purpose of this study has been to depict the inflection
point of the 70 Week Prophecy given to Daniel. One’s theory is
that the prophecy has a dual meaning and applies the
juxtaposition to each other, from the past and re-synchronize
for the future.
Plainly stated, the 70th Week of Years is pertaining to 2
Messiahs, 2 deaths and 2 ‘cutting off’. In the 1st 3.5
years or 1260 period, one posits that the time-frame pertained
to Jesus’ 1260-day public ministry. Then on that
1260th day, Jesus, the true Christ was ‘cut off’ or killed.
This was the Crucifixion.
Then the 2000-year Church Age Intermission ensued where
the Daily Sacrifices did cease in 70 AD. But the timeline then
picks-up when at the ‘midst’ of the literal last week of Daniel
is when the AntiChrist also dies or is ‘cut-off’ but then
resurrects and it is when the Daily Sacrifices are ‘cut off’ or
ceased. This subsequent 1260-day count leads to the return of
the true Christ, Jesus. Notice the symmetry of a repeated date,
April 14 in 32 AD, 2030 and 2033.
The moment you stop believing the narrative is the moment you
become dangerous.
