"Thank You Douglas Henney: Two Annual Passovers "

Thank you Douglas for your recent reflections about Second Passover. I have written several posts about this subject over the years. Lisa Taylor has written very fine posts about Second Passover. Here are some of my recent reflections about this obscure yet important annual date.

According to the Book of Exodus there are two annual Passovers. Originally, there was only one commanded to be remembered and observed. The First Passover. A Second Chance Passover was granted in response to a request made to the mediator Moses by a few defiled men who had touched dead people or corpses of animals, close to the date of the First Passover. Excluded because of defilement. Do I believe this meant adding on another 7 more days for a Second Feast of Unleavened Bread? No. Only once was there a 2-week observance, in unusual one time only circumstances. Of all the 7 Feasts of Elohim, it is only Passover that is given the original date of Nisan 14 plus the alternative date of Iyar 14 for the FEW DEFILED. The Counting of the Omer annually extends from Nisan 16 to Shavuot. That is not redone from Iyar 14 until after Shavuot. The First Passover, not Second Passover, is the FOUNDATION for the 6 remaining Feasts of Elohim. According to the Torah Calendar, the Second Passover will be 5-1 to 2 in 2026. Might the Messiah return from His long trip away on a Second Passover? At Second Passover, even more important than issues of defilement, is the possible RETURN of the Messiah during that time frame in The Blessed Hope.

Almost no one knows about Second Passover. Very obscure. Who observes it? Probably no one in Israel or anywhere else will observe it in 2026. In our modern societies, family members do not deal with dead relatives or corpses of animals as was done in the times of Messiah or of Moses. The Second Passover is not on par with the First Passover. Divine commandment, for a Feast of Elohim, is not the same as a granted request for an extension of time and an alternative date for participation. The Second Passover was granted as an extension of divine mercy and kindness for the FEW DEFILED. The MANY, almost all, were to observe the commanded First Passover. The intent was never to have many defiled and excluded from The First Passover. Only the First Passover is the FOUNDATION Date for beginning the Appointed Times/the Appointment Times/ the Feasts of Elohim. It is the First, the INTRODUCTION, before the later shadow pictures of the Messiah. Might the Messiah's PROMISED RETURN for His bride, body, family be on Second Passover in 2026? We shall see.

With Love and Shalom,
Jean
