I never knew that about that close call during the Reagan administration.

I agree with you that the US may be close to judgment.

And if that judgment comes even before the tribulation, or at least early on in the tribulation, that would leave Israel without an earthly ally, or protector.

There could then be great temptation for enemy nations of Israel to conspire to collectively go against Israel.

If the US is not Mystery, Babylon, then why would the 10 kings need to destroy the vatican, or Mecca, before making war with the Lamb?

While the three unclean spirits like frogs deceive the other kings of the earth to gather against Israel?

Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

  14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

  16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

  14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

  16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Unless the vatican, or Mecca, becomes a great earthly ally, or protector, of Israel, something doesn't seem to add up (at least to me, that is).

But if the US is Mystery, Babylon, then it would make sense (to me), that the 10 king allies of the beast would see the wisdom of getting rid of the US, first.

While those 3 unclean spirits deceive the other kings of the earth by miracles, to join together with the beast and the 10 kings, to go against Israel.

And apparently the 10 kings know that the Lamb will come to defend the remnant of Israel, and they will be emboldened to even dare to make war with the Lamb.

The vatican, or Mecca, are not currently allies of Israel, and are more like enemies.

Destroying them would seem counterproductive, since they would seem to be sources of great support for the international invasion of Israel.

That thought is in light of the time possibly being really soon.

But if Jesus tarries for another century, Dr Andy Woods thoughts about a rebuilt Babylon on the Euphrates, complete with waterways, and great wealth, could possibly happen?
