Dear John & Doves,
I mean no dis-respect for the Catholic Church but I'm not entirely convinced that they have the right days for "Easter", Ascension & Pentecost even though an overwhelming majority adhere to these "Holy Days".
I think a much better source for calculation is forthcoming from the Messianic Jews. For instance, they assign Day 40 of counting the Omer to the Ascension with Pentecost occurring after counting the Omer for 49 days, on Day 50 hence Penta - cost.
So, according to the Messianic Jew's way of reckoning, Ascension Day is on Friday, May 23 with Pentecost on Monday, June 2nd. There is a high logical, spiritual as well as an emotional correlation of Ascension Day to the Rapture and the restart of the Gospel of the Kingdom, on June 2nd with the Holy Spirit descending onto the 144,000. There is also 144 days to Shmini Atzeret on October 14th from Asension Day.
If the Tribulation starts on Shmini Atzeret:
Shmini Atzeret, October 14, 2025 to Feast of Trumpets, September 6, 2032 = 2520 Inclusive Days
Shmini Atzeret, October 14, 2025 to Nisan 10,March 26, 2029 = 1260 Inclusive Days
"Nisan 10 is the tenth day of the first month of the Biblical Calendar. This date has some great significance:
"On this day, God instructed Moses in Exodus 12 to take an unblemished male lamb of the 1st year and separate and watch over it for 4 days. This lamb would be sacrificed on Passover at twilight, before the end of Nisan 14. Its blood would be placed on the side posts and upper doorpost of the house in which it would be eaten.
On this day, Jesus fulfilled this pattern of the "sacrificed lamb." He entered Jerusalem on this day to acclamations of "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!" (Matt 21:9).
"His entry to Jerusalem was followed by a cross-examination by the chief priests for 4 days. They were trying to determine whether He was the Chosen One - the Messiah!
On this day, Israel crossed the Jordan and was on the other side of Jordan, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho (Joshua 4:19) On this day, Ezekiel saw the vision of a new city and a new temple of the restored kingdom. Ezekiel 40:1-2
On this day, the Great Tribulation would begin after 3.5 years of "peace." The total time of the Great Tribulation is 3.5 years which is 1260 days (Daniel 12:7)
(1) "Jesus explains" and illustrates the only possible understanding of the 2,300-day prophecy of Daniel 8:13-14. By it, we gain an understanding that the Jews will begin their daily sacrifice 220 days into Daniel's 70th week, which will last for 1,040 days, until it is caused to cease in the midst of the week (Nisan 10). This will then be followed by the 42 months of the transgression of desolation when Jerusalem, the temple, the host (saints) and the truth will all be cast down and trodden underfoot during the 1,260 days of great tribulation.
(2) Note that 220 days after Shemini Atzeret (October 14, 2025) is May 22, 2026, Shavuot.
Blessings,Mike
