Letters--Then and Now"
Sunday Morning Letters—Then and Now
Sunday mornings long ago my family
listened to the Old Time Gospel Hour with Rev. Charles E.
Fuller, evangelist radio pioneer. We would sing along with
his trademark hymn “Heavenly Sunshine” and enjoy his
inspirational gospel messages.
The program featured Mrs. Fuller who
read & answered letters from listeners. Every week for
years, Rev. Fuller lovingly introduced his wife with these exact
words “And now, Mrs. Fuller with the Letters, go right ahead
Honey.”
Then one Sunday, Rev. Fuller hurriedly
exclaimed “And now Mrs. Fuller, go right ahead Honey.” We
were astonished.
There was awkward dead air before the
forgetful Rev. Fuller blurted out “Uh…WITH THE LETTERS!”
Spontaneous uproarious laughter erupted
from everyone.
That was then. Sunday mornings
now I awaken with eager anticipation for the Latter Day Letters
on 5 Doves.
While the studies of numbers edify and
the links engage, my favorite Letters share personal
testimonies—like those of Carl Worline, Gerry Almond, Chance,
Luis Vega, and many others.
After all, the testimony of Jesus is
the spirit of prophecy (Rev. 19:10) and we overcome by His Blood
and our testimony unto death (Rev 12:11).
So when the Spirit moves you to share
your own testimony in the Latter Day Letters, but you hesitate,
remember Reverend Fuller, and go right ahead Honey.
Many thanks John for 5 Doves and for
The Latter Day Letters.
