This is in reply to your 4/20 post Donna Danna: "Is The Millenium Temple Built In New Jerusalem or in Old Jerusalem?" Letter in which you stated the following:
The reason I asked the question is because of the 'similarities' in the Millennial Temple and New Jerusalem. These similarities make it sound like one place - but -There is no Temple in New Jerusalem - so why are these things doubled? They each have twelve gates named for the twelve tribes of Israel. They each have a river and by the river is a tree of life. Each has a tree of life with leaves for the healing of the nations/medicine and each bears fruit each month.Maybe God doubled these things because they are important to Him and us. And the Millennial Temple needs these things for the Jewish people. And the New Jerusalem needs these things for the rest of the people. Just a thought....
MY REPLY:While New Jerusalem has 12 gates named after the 12 tribes of Israel (Rev. 21:21), the Millenium Temple only has 3 gates which are on the North (Ez. 40:35), East (Ez. 40:44) & South (Ez. 40:28). There is no gate on the West. It was the city of Jerusalem that had 12 gates according to the article at The Gates of Jerusalem | What He Is Teaching Me
As for New Jerusalem having a river & a tree of life and the Millenium Temple having a river and a tree of life outside it, the river and the tree of life outside the Millenium Temple are probably just patterned after what will be in New Jerusalem just like the tabernacle and the vessels in it were patterns and figures of what was in heaven accordingto Hebrews 9:21-24.
