This is a study that deserves more time. To discover the identity of mystery Babylon, we need to look at the characteristics of ancient Babylon. For a start, the Babylonian exile included end-time prophets such as Ezekiel. A big, fat hint right there. Ezekiel 38 - anyone?

 

Modern day Egypt is trying, desperately, to assist Israel in the current day drama over the Gaza Strip. They do NOT want any Palestinian refugees because they know they will simply be importing Hamas. Back in the ancient Babylonian exile, Pharaoh Apries (called Hophra in Jeremiah 44:30) tried to help the kingdom of Judah in their fight against Babylonia. In 588 BC, the Pharaoh Apries dispatched a military unit to Jerusalem to protect it against the Babylonians. However, the Egyptian army soon realised that they were no match for the Babylonians and had to withdraw. Hmmm! My thoughts are that Egypt will fall, as scripture informs us, as the global powers-that-be want control over the Suez Canal. Which is a major artery for the shipping industry.

 

According to the article in the link - the ancient Babylonian exile of the Jewish people, was not 'that bad'. The Jewish people did well in ancient Babylon. According to historians, a number of Jewish people CHOSE to stay in Babylon after Cyrus cleared the way for the Jews to return to the Holy Land. Doesn't that sound like America to you? America holds the second amount of Jewish people with Israel being the nation that now holds the most Jewish people. The American Jews have, until now, had very comfortable lives in America. Established and secure. Even when Israel became a nation again in 1948, many Jew chose to remain in America (Mystery Babylon???) Almighty God wants and needs ALL His people back in the Holy Land. According to ancient history, Egypt falls first and then Israel also succumbs, soon after. As scripture tells us, "What happened before will happen again. There is nothing new under the sun". Ecclesiastes 1:9. It seems that history has done a full circle and 'Mystery Babylon' has been revealed.
