"how long would it to take?"
Gino; I thought so often about the sun standing still, so contrary to what we have been taught. I finally came to the conclusion that the earth spinning made no sense at all. If the earth were spinning why did GOD ask Job, "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?" I was never able to wrap my brain around the earth having foundations, and spinning!! Just more of man calling God a liar. IMHO.Joshua 10:12 Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
If the sun & moon actually orbit the earth, then they could stop and start suddenly.Also, only tidal changes would cease for the day, in addition to one side of earth remaining light, and the other dark.However, if the earth rotates on its axis, then wouldn't that have taken quite a while to stop?Otherwise the momentum of the Mediterranean, already in motion, would have caused it to wash over the land of Israel.So, how long would it to take to slow down rotation, to prevent that from happening?
