Pete Garcia writes a passionate article about our current state. It is seriously a Must Read. There are a few things I mildly disagree with. I say mildly because I am totally on board with Pete's rage and disgust. I just think that things are better than Pete thinks they are.
I will explain. Pete goes into that famous quote - "People become so heavenly minded, they become no earthly good". For years I was scared of becoming that person. No good to my earthly loves and duties because I am so focused on our LORD and the kingdom to come. Whenever that may be. I call RUBBISH. What a RUBBISH quote. When we are heavenly minded - we are the MOST good to earthly things. We are not poseurs - locking ourselves away in a Roman Catholic nunnery and self-flagellating every other night. We do not tell other people what to do or how to live. Our job is simply to spread the word of the new covenant through LORD Jesus. Ours is not to judge or discipline. We are not a cult.
Since I became heavenly minded - I have become a much better person. A much better Mother and wife. By no means perfect - my family love me for who I am. And I am only who I am since I became heavenly minded. Such a stupid, stupid quote. Grrrrrrr. We are only confident when we truly walk with God. When we are heavenly minded.
Pete goes into a beautifully written, furious rant about the state of our current world, and I am with him all the way. But, it's all beyond our control. Almighty calls whom He calls. Not all are called by the Spirit. Everything that is happening is by the will of God. I will admit that there are many times that I'll read something in the news and feel the urge to stab my computer. With a huge knife. Over and over. Until it lies in bits. The pure rage is rather frightening. But it goes quickly. Because I am totally at peace with the knowledge that Almighty God is in full control. These things are meant to happen. They are prophetic. And they will bring many ignorants to reading scripture.
