The KJV calls it the hour
of temptation. Keeping that in mind, I thought of the
possibility of the hour of temptation having to do with
being the whole world being tempted to worship the beast and
take the mark of the beast in order to buy and sell which
would involve buying food so that a person doesn't starve to
death from hunger, but they will end up in torment day and
night and are eternally damned and separated from God.
Or the whole world has the choice not to worship the beast
nor take his mark in order to buy and sell and be killed and
spend eternity with Christ. Perhaps that is what the
verse below means that the believers in Jesus Christ will be
kept from the hour of temptation by taking them to heaven in
the Rapture of the Saints so they won't have to be tempted
to take the mark of the beast.
Revelation 3:10, "Because
thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep
thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon
all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."
