"Prohibition Against Vaccine Tattoo?"

In the light of the talk about the possibility of a tattoo being connected to a future Corona Virus vaccine there is a verse in Leviticus 19: 28 which specifically prohibits the wearing of a tattoo: “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.”

This verse seems pretty clear about not marking our bodies with tattoos.

I remember seeing a show about the Plague which said that Jewish communities fared better probably because of the  hygiene laws that had to be followed from the book of Leviticus.  This is an example that there are things in the Bible that we do not understand fully.  But they are there for a reason.  It is an act of faith to obey the word of God.  God loves us and wants the best for us.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”  Jeremiah 29:11-13.

I don’t want to sound judgmental to those who may already have tattoos, but we may all need to make a decision in the future about marking our bodies.  It would be a good idea to consider now what your response is going to be and why.

We live in strange times.  But none of it is a surprise to God.

Maranatha.
