Is Malachi Chapter Four Being Fulfilled Before Our Eyes?

4 “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch.
Is the chaos that is happening across almost every nation in the world a fulfilment, or at least a partial fulfilment, of Malachi 4? Nations like Australia have moved a long way from the Word of God, and judgment is coming. As it says in 1 Peter 4 v 17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?
I could give many examples, but I will focus on same sex marriage. Legislation for this was passed through the Federal Parliament on 7 December 2017. In the lead up to this, a large number of companies and most sporting groups took a strong stand on going down this path. This weighing in on a moral issue was unusual. Now in early 2020 many of these businesses have closed, at least temporarily, and almost all sports are in disarray!! But for those of us who are looking for the Return of Jesus Christ there is a wonderful promise!!
2 But to you who fear My name, The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,”
Says the Lord of hosts.And for those who hunger and thirst after righteousness there is this.
4 “Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 6 And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
