Peter said we "...are kept by the power of God through FAITH for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." [1 Pet.1:5] The power of God that's continuously flowing into us is what's producing faith for salvation ready to be revealed on the Day marking the end of this age. What faith could Peter possibly be referring to? It's the WORKS OF FAITH. The works of faith are all the good things we say and do that express God's loving kindness towards our spouses, our children, the brethren and all men and women in general. This is the faith that indicates the power of God is indeed at work in us. This is how we love God. Living faith is not passive! It MUST produce good actions. Hence the reason James said: What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. [James 2:14-17] We "...are kept by the power of God through [the works of] faith FOR salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." [1 Pet.1:5][words in bracket are mine] Notice the seamless flow of God's Omnipotent power towards us! We're receiving it now for one end only. And that's to complete our salvation. For our souls, into which all the works of our faith are being stored, dwell in bodies of sin. It's these bodies of sin that we're going to be saved or delivered from when the Lord comes for us. No wonder Paul lamented by saying "O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?" [Rom.7:24] We know it's the Lord Jesus Christ Who's going to deliver us when He comes in the Rapture. Paul said the same thing Peter said, but in a different way. For instead of saying "the power of God" he said the "Spirit of God" And instead of saying "faith" or the "works of faith" he said righteousness! Hence we read: "But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is LIFE because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." [Rom.8:9-11]Practicing the righteousness of God is the evidence that the Spirit of Life is continuously flowing into us from our Lord Jesus Christ. Hence we read "...we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous...If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him...He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous...Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God..." [1 John 2:1,29, 3:7,10]When the Lord comes to gather us in Rapture, He's going to do it, by the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit, Who Paul refers to as the Spirit of Christ. The Lord, through His Spirit in us, is going to instantly dissolve our mortal flesh and bones and replace them with glorified ones. Hence the reason Paul said "...we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up [ or dissolved] BY LIFE. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. [2 Cor.5:4,5] See you all in the air!
