After watching this YT clip, it struck me that the Jewish people are stuck in an "almost" cult. It never occurred to me before. I have a Jehovah Witness sister and umpteen Roman Catholic friends and there is no budging them. Even if I offer up Biblical proof by the bucket load - they believe what they want to believe. It's astonishing and SO frustrating. The RC's stick faithfully to their "tradition" stance and will not hear of their blessed Virgin Mary not being the so-called "Mother of God" and "The Queen of heaven". They adore the Pope and take their own mothers to Lourdes as a once-in-a-lifetime treat. My JW sister has had loads of opportunities to hear the truth about Jesus but she will not budge. She likes the confines of a man-made, institutionalised type religion. Putting in her hours of door-to-door flim flam. With my sister, in particular, you can tell by her fruit that she does not have the Holy Spirit. It's sounds horrible - but she really is a nasty piece of work. The sad reality of the JW's is that they have knowledge of the Bible, Yes - their Bible has been altered but that still doesn't excuse their belief that Jesus was raised from the dead in spirit form - and not a bodily resurrection. They also believe that Jesus is not God. The RC's differ. Some are simply lovely. Some not.
Watching this YT clip, I realised that the Jewish people are much like the RC people. Inasmuch as they are pretty clueless about their own Bible. As we know, Doves - if we don't read our Bibles, we may as well be floundering off the coast of Timbuktu. In a rubber ring. With sharks circling. The man in the YT clip was President of a synagogue!! And he didn't know his Bible, for crying in a bucket. THIS is how bad it is. They study the Talmud - the Books of Moses. Beyond that, they are clueless. Presenting Isaiah 53 to a person who relies solely on his synagogue for teaching, is like presenting Klingon (Star Trek speak) to a Hobbit. BUT....God. Sometimes the message gets straight through and it's like removing the blinkers in an instant. I am sure you have all come across this, Doves. Witnessing to some is such a joy. You can SEE the understanding dawning in their eyes. With others - you can literally see the curtain come down.
We can plant the seed but we can't make it grow. Only God can. When Almighty God tells us that He chose us from the beginning - He means it. I don't know what the process is - how He selects us - but I am a million percent sure that it's exact, fair and precise. I am still in awe that Almighty God found me worthy of His truth.
