We must always remember first and foremost that our King James Bible is "ordered" by the spirit, concerning "the book of the Lord."
Isaiah 34:16 for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it' hath "gathered" them.
We must needs also to remember that it is:
1.precept upon precept
2. and it is line upon line
3. it is always here a little and there a little
So.. is the book of Genesis as is all the 66 books in our Bible.
Creation was finished in the first chapter of Genesis 1:1-31
Through the first 6 days of creation up to the mention of the 7th day rest of the Lord God in chapter 2:1-3 it is "line upon line" concerning the timeline of the creation of all things.
Then do we use the precept upon precept, and here a little and there a little.

As I understand  the scripture, it was after the Sin, that Adam "knew" his wife and she "conceived" and bare Cain in (Genesis 4:1) Then in (Genesis 4:2)  And she "again" bare his brother Abel.
( These two boys were "twins" for it does "not "read that she "conceived" again and bare Abel.
It reads And she "bare again" his brother Abel.)
As was the case with Esau and Jacob.
The bad son and the good son.

I do "not" believe that Adam "came at his wife" until after the Sin, and after they had left the garden.
Why?
Because I follow the precept upon precept, in the case of the children of Israel in the wilderness, where God told Moses to have the children to 'wash themselves' and "come NOT at their wives" and to come to the nether part of the mount Sinai. IT WAS HOLY GROUND. The  PRESENCE of God himself was on mount Siani, and it was on fire and smoke.
The garden ...also was HALLOWED and HOLY ground because THE LORD GOD himself walked with them DAILY in the cool of the evening in the GARDEN.

Eve was the mother of all living humanity.
Adam was the father of all living humanity.
When "the rib" was brought to Adam in the garden on the 80th day after "their" creation, Adam called her wo-man because she was taken out of man.
(remember that Adam was to name all living things upon the earth while he was "in" the garden those 40 "more" days before the "rib" was brought to him by the Lord on that 80th day. Therefore when the Lord brought the rib to Adam, he then called her woman. After the sin and they had left the garden she was called Eve by Adam.)

The rib/the wo-man was named by Adam; EVE, after they left the garden.
Eve means mother of all living humanity.
She and Adam were human kind and made in the image of God.

We are through the continuance of time, and through the generations of the children of Adam and Eve "through" the children of Noah, the sons and daughters of man.
 Namely...Shem, Ham, and Japheth to present day, ALL humanity.
Our DNA could be traced back to Adam and the woman Eve.
This is how the so named 23 and me DNA company knows where we come from, by regions of the earth. Which goes back to the tower of Babel in the dispersion of all mankind throughout the world.
Genesis 10:25 The earth was divided. The days of Peleg one of Ebers' sons.
The earth was divided. Thus the different continents.

As Cain slew his brother (twin) Abel (Genesis 4:25)
Esau said; I will slay my brother (twin) Jacob (Genesis 27:41)

Ecclesiastes 1:9 no new thing under the sun.

Except for these verses: "new thing" mentioned (3) times in the scriptures.
Numbers 16:30  But "if" the Lord make a new thing
Isaiah 43:19  Behold I' will do a new thing
Jeremiah 31:22  for the Lord hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
I have not yet determined by the scriptures just what this means in Jeremiah 31:22.
Could it be MYSTRY BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS  in Revelation 17:5
Or...could it be The Virgin birth of the God man, Christ the Son of God?
No man touched Mary...she was a virgin and the Lord placed in her that Holy "thing." Luke 1:35
