"Feast of Resurrection"
I have considered Zechariah 1:12's seventy-year period as a
previously misunderstood 70-year period. As we approach
the day, the veil is being lifted.
When God recovered the Jews from the Diaspora exile, He did it
(he is doing it) "with fury poured out". Israel returned
as a nation, born in a day, in unbelief. Ezekiel
prophesied this in Ezekiel 20:33-34. Isaiah in 11:11, a
hundred or so years before Ezekiel, spoke of God's second
recovery of His people.
This second recovery is the Diaspora exile recovery of our day,
epitomized by the national formation of a Jewish state on May
14, 1948. God will deal with Israel as a nation during
Daniel's 70th week. Now God is dealing with individuals as
salvation is personal and not national, an important
dispensational distinction.
God's second recovery must be viewed in the context of "fury
poured out" as stated by Ezekiel. This view is consistent
with my position on Zechariah 1:12's 70-years of
indignation. Indignation and fury are shared
terms. Ezekiel 20:34 supports Zechariah 1:12 in the
context of exile recovery. Daniel, too, speaking for
the Lord says: "Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in
the last end of the indignation..." (Daniel 8:19)
God's wrath abides on anyone who denies the Son. (John
3:36) This is a doctrinal truth. Israel returned in
unbelief. This wrath is expressed as fury poured out
or indignation.
My Zechariah paper discusses God's favorable attitude toward
Jerusalem and the cities of Judah following the return from the
Babylonian exile. God blessed the Jews which returned to
Jerusalem from Babylon from the day they laid the temple
foundation in 535/4 B.C. (Haggai 2:18-19) The
Babylonian exile and the desolations of Jerusalem permitted
Jerusalem to enjoy her Sabbath rest. The people who caused
the land to sin had been removed.
Then, Jesus, stands as a witness giving us and "end of the age"
clue with His "fig tree" parable. In Matthew
24:32 Jesus tells the reader to "learn" the parable. This
means that its meaning can be learned and known for the truth it
represents. The fig tree represented fruitless
Israel which will be reborn as a nation, albeit in unbelief.
(Matthew 21:18-20) Luke gives us more
information on this parable. He says: "Behold, the fig
tree and all the trees". (Luke 21:29-32) If the fig tree
represents the nation of Israel, then all the trees represent
all the nations. Sound familiar......the United Nations
and Resolution 181 on November 29, 1947.
Jesus cut down the fig tree in 70 A.D. We know that it was
the nation in the parable of the cut down fig tree in Luke
13:6-7.
And then there is the fig tree in Song of Songs
2:13. Song of Songs has a resurrection/rapture
application too. It is interesting that the fig tree and
putting forth leaves precedes the command to "Arise my love, my
fair one, and come away." Sounds like the "catching out"
event.
The generation which observes the rebirth of the nation of
Israel will live in the times of Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark
13. A generation is 70 years, 80 if by strength,
then we fly away. (Psalm 90:10. King David, the offspring
of Jesse (Revelation 22:16), lived to the age of 70.
70 is ten Sabbath cycles. The Sabbath is the covenant sign
to the Jew. (Ezekiel 20:12,20)
Now, I will challenge the historic position on the Daniel 9:27
covenant. In Ezekiel 20, following the Diaspora recovery,
in fury and indignation, during Daniel's 70th week, God will
call out a remnant of Jewish believers who will keep the
commandments of God and have the faith and testimony of Jesus.
(Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 20:4) These, He will bring
into the "bond of His covenant" during Daniel's 70th week.
(Ezekiel 20:37) The seed of Jacob, those who flee the
transgression and keep the testimony (Isaiah 59:20) shall be
saved. (Romans 11:26). A remnant shall be saved. (Romans
9:27; Isaiah 10:21-23) The Second Advent of Jesus
commences the fulfillment of the confirmed, and previously
deferred promises of the Abrahamic and Davidic promises to
Daniel's people. The confirmed covenant brings in
everlasting righteousness and the anointing of the most Holy.
Ezekiel 20:34 confirms Zechariah 1:12 as a different 70-year
period. I believe it is highly likely we are living in the
moment. This prophecy is speaking today.
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any
private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by
the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by
the Holy Ghost." (2 Peter 1:20-21) God in Christ has
spoken in the apostles, Ezekiel, Zechariah and Daniel on this
subject.
The parable of the fig tree, Zechariah's 70-year of indignation,
Isaiah 11:11, Daniel 8, and Ezekiel's Diaspora recovery "with
fury poured out" are all in agreement. This is quite an
alignment. The literary architecture of the Scriptures of
Truth are awesome! Glory to God.
Jesus is coming SOON! Count the Omer unto the
Feast of the Resurrection!
