The Syrian government under President Assad no longer has any say in what Syria says or does - proven by the April 4, 2018 trilateral summit between Rouhani of Iran, Erdogan of Turkey, and Putin of Russia - refer to my other letter today on this. The following articles' titles should be 'Iran will never put up with Golan Heights' occupation' and 'Iran places tanks, artillery in buffer zone with Israel'. Syria/Assad is clearly a proxy of Iran. And Iran is wanting to 'punish' Israel - total annihilation.
Also, note the Russian part in this - see the last article below.
Nothing good will come of this summit for Israel (or the United States). The enemies of Israel are gathering north of Israel.

April 06, 2018 13:27BAKU. April 6 (Interfax) - Damascus will never accept with Israel's occupation of the Golan Heights, Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari said at the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM)'s Mid-Term Ministerial Conference in Baku on Friday.
"We will never accept the occupation of the Golan Heights," al-Jaafari said.
Israel has not been punished for occupying the lands of neighboring countries, al-Jaafari said. "Israel has occupied Syria's Golan Heights, Palestine, and some Lebanese territories. Crimes are still being committed against the civilian population, and various kinds of terrorist cells are receiving support. As for the Palestinians, Syria supports their right to self-determination," he said.

The Bashar Assad regime is preparing an offensive to retake southern Syria and the Syrian Golan Heights from rebel groups and has reportedly placed tanks and heavy artillery inside the demilitarized buffer zone on the country’s border with Israel.
The step violates the Agreement on Disengagement signed in 1974 between Israel and Syria, which concluded the Yom Kippur War. Israel is expected to complain to the United Nations peacemaking force known as UNDOF, the Haaretz daily reported Thursday.
Russian Navy ships large arsenal of tanks to Syria
BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:40 A.M.) – The Russian Ropucha class LSTM Minsk was photographed by Yoruk Isik of the Bosphorus Observer, Thursday, sailing through the Bosphorus Strait en route to the Port of Tartous in western Syria.
According to a military report, the Russian naval vessel was carrying a large arsenal of tanks, BMPs, and heavy weapons that were destined for Syria.
This latest delivery comes just day after the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) announced that their forces were planning a large-scale offensive in southern Syria.
In particular, the Syrian Army is preparing to launch a massive offensive in the Dara’a and Al-Quneitra governorats, as they conclude their East Ghouta operations.
