Since we are in the time period of the Counting of the Omer - the day after the first day of Passover to the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost, I did some looking into this time period.
All of Jesus' post-resurrection appearances occurred within the days of the Omer Count. Very early in the Omer Count, He appeared to Mary Magdalene and other women. The following day on the Omer Count, He appeared to two men on the Road to Emmaus, and later that day He appeared to the Twelve Apostles. His appearances continued to the Fortieth Day of the Omer when He ascended into the clouds (Ascension Day) in front of numerous followers. He had just instructed them to stay in Jerusalem and wait - the Holy Spirit came to them on the 50th Day of the Omer, our 'Pentecost', which means 'fifty'.

So all of Jesus' appearances took place during a forty day period in the Counting of the Omer! He ascended on Iyar 25, Omer: Day 40.
I wonder if He'll appear to His followers again - in the sky (in the clouds), during a future Counting of the Omer, Day count 40. The angels said He would return 'the same way' - when He was taken up, He disappeared into the clouds.

This occurrence (Ascension) was so important that G-d sent two angels to tell the 'men of Galilee' about this event and it's future meaning!

This year, Day 40 of the Omer Count, Iyra 25, is the evening of Wednesday May 9 to the evening of Thursday May 10. Maybe our 'ascension' will be on this day also.
