Lee Strobel is the author of the first book I read (other than the Bible) after I was born again in 1999. After reading it, I thought, "Why didn't anyone tell me this before?" I was 30 years old at the time--it seemed so clear based on the evidence he put forth that Jesus did live and is exactly who He said He is. I had previously thought that each religion thinks it has the right answer but nobody really knows for sure among Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Jews, etc. But there is one right answer. Over the years, so many people have said things like "Everyone has a right to their own opinions or to worship whoever they want" which is true, but you can't say that 2+2 = 3 or 5 or 6 or any other number.
In 1999, there was an offering on a Christian program to purchase a 6 pack of the book, The Case for Christ at a really reasonable price to use as an evangelizing tool, so I took advantage of it. I have 2 brothers and a sister. Gave the book out to family members and there was some resistance at first but my father eventually came to accept the Lord while he was in hospice after a stroke and that was a great relief to me. The status of a few of my family members is still uncertain--prayers would be appreciated.
The main subject of the movie that just came out (assuming this is Sunday, it came out Friday 4/7) is that Lee's wife became a follower of Jesus shortly after they got married. His description of how he felt about that was interesting:
I've heard positive things about the movie and I follow Lee on twitter. He wants as many Christians to go this weekend as possible so that additional theaters can be added for Easter/Passover next week. The book had a really big impact on me, and if the movie is anything like the book, I'd recommend it. I'll be going this weekend myself.
