> “The Lord's
Day in the Book of Revelation”
> “When did the writer of the Book of The Revelation have
his experience? > Verse 10 of Chapter 1 is under
discussion. Does the Lord's Day mean the > first day of the
week, or does it mean something else?”
The Lord's Day means the first day of the week.
THE LORD’S DAY AND THE DAY OF THE LORD ARE TWO DIFFERENT DAYS
To me, there are two Raptures, Mid-Trib and Post-Trib. The first
is on the Lord’s day (Sunday) and the last is on the Day of the
Lord at the end of the Great Tribulation.
Joe_1:15 says, "Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at
hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come."
2Pe_3:10 says, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in
the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great
noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
THE FIRST-TRUMP RAPTURE IS ON SUNDAY WHEN MICHAEL APPEARS
MID-TRIB, AND THERE IS NO EARTHQUAKE
Rev 1:9-11 says, “I John, who also am your brother, and
companion IN TRIBULATION, and in the kingdom and patience of
Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the
word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I
was (lit., became) in the Spirit on the Lord's day (i.e.,
Sunday), and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, 11
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega”.
1Th 4:16,17 says, “For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with THE VOICE OF THE ARCHANGEL, and with
the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
THE ARCHANGEL IS MICHAEL, WHO APPEARS MID-TRIB BRINGING WITH HIM
MOSES AND ELIJAH
Jud 1:9 says, “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with
the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring
against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke
thee.”
Rev 11:1-3 says, “And there was given me a reed like unto a rod:
and the angel stood, saying, RISE (i.e., in the Mid-Trib
Rapture), and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them
that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the
temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the
Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty
and two months. 3 And I will give power unto my two
witnesses (i.e., Moses and Elijah), and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.”
Dan 12:1 says, “And AT THAT TIME (i.e., Mid-Trib) SHALL MICHAEL
STAND UP, the great prince which standeth for the children of
thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never
was since there was a nation even to that same time: and AT THAT
TIME THY PEOPLE SHALL BE DELIVERED, every one that shall be
found written in the book.”
Rev 12:6-12 says, “And the woman (i.e., Israel) fled into the
wilderness, where she hath a place (i.e., Petra) prepared of
God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and
threescore days (i.e., during the Great Tribulation). 7
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought
against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any
more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that
old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the
whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were
cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in
heaven, NOW IS COME SALVATION (soteria, deliverance, rescue,
i.e., the First-Trump Rapture), and strength, and the kingdom of
our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our
brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and
night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb,
and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their
lives unto the death. 12 Therefore REJOICE, YE HEAVENS,
AND YE THAT DWELL IN THEM."
THE LAST-TRUMP RAPTURE IS ON THE POST-TRIB DAY OF THE LORD, WHEN
CHRIST BECOMES KING OF THIS WORLD AND THERE IS A GREAT
EARTHQUAKE
Joe 2:31,32 says, "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and
the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of
the LORD come. 32 And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be
delivered".
Joe 3:13-16 says, "Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is
ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats
overflow; for their wickedness is great. 14 Multitudes,
multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is
near in the valley of decision. 15 The sun and the moon
shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his
voice from Jerusalem; and THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH SHALL SHAKE:
but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of
the children of Israel."
Isa 11:11,12 says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that
the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the
remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and
from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and
from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and
shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the
dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth."
Jer_46:10 says, "For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a
day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and
THE SWORD SHALL DEVOUR, and it shall be satiate and made drunk
with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in
the north country by the river Euphrates."
Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the
east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and A FLAMING SWORD which
turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
Zep 1:14-18 says, "The great day of the LORD is near, it is
near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the
LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. 15 That day
is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of
wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a
day of clouds and thick darkness, 16 A day of the trumpet
and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high
towers. 17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they
shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the
LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their
flesh as the dung. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold
shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath;
but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his
jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them
that dwell in the land."
1Co 15:51-54 says, “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not
all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in
the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet
shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on
incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and
this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought
to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in
victory.”
Rev 11:12-15 says, “And they (i.e., Moses and Elijah) heard a
great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And
they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld
them. 13 And the same hour was there a GREAT EARTHQUAKE,
and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were
slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted,
and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe is
past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 15 And
the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in
heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the
kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for
ever and ever."
2Pe 3:10 says, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in
the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great
noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
Psa 110:5,6 says, "The Lord at thy right hand shall strike
through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall
judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead
bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries."
Rev_16:18 says, "And there were voices, and thunders, and
lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not
since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so
great."
"AND THE LORD MY GOD SHALL COME, AND ALL THE SAINTS WITH THEE"
Zec 14:1-5 says, "Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy
spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will
gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city
shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished;
and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the
residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those
nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his
feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is
before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall
cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west,
and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain
shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for
the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of
Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all
the saints with thee."
1Th 3:13 says, "To the end he may stablish your hearts
unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints."
1Co_6:3 says, "Know ye not that we shall judge angels?"
Isa_13:6 says, "Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it
shall come as a destruction from the Almighty."
Isa_13:9 says, "Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both
with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he
shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it."
Isa_34:8 says, "For it is the day of the LORD'S vengeance, and
the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion."
Psa 72:8 says, "He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and
from the river unto the ends of the earth."
