Graphical picture of the timing of the Crucifixion - Part 2
God Bless, James_________________________
What I have done to locate in time of the crucifixion is not to assume that I know which year the crucifixion happened or to assume that the crucifixion was on a Friday, nor did I assume to know which time in the month the full moon happened.
Do not forget for the Hebrew Calendar, the intercalary years are when a month is inserted 7 times in every 19 years to correct the barley harvest time to the New Year full moon for Nissan around the equinox.
I went to the beginning of the time given for all these events to happen, starting with Daniel 9:24-27. The counting forward began from March 14, 445 B.C. when Artaxerxes gave the order to Nehemiah to return and rebuild Jerusalem. The count of days started then and had to go to the full 69 weeks of years, 7 years per week and the prophetic 360 day years to get 173,880 days, which leads to the date of Palm Sunday 32 AD, EXACTLY.
The passover started that same week at sunset, on a Wednesday (Gregorian Calendar), which was day 4, becoming Thursday day 5 at sunset on the Hebrew calendar, which is Passover, a High Sabbath.
Because no one was allowed to remain on the cross on a High Sabbath, which is a Feast of God, Jesus had to be crucified the day before, on day 4, or Wednesday.
The regular Sabbath is held every Friday starting at sunset (the start of the 7th day) through the day Saturday until sunset. To make it easier to understand, in Hebrew they do not name the days of the week, but name the days by number, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, the 7th day being the weekly Sabbath, each day ending at sunset and the new day starting at sunset. The graphic will help to make that clear.
The Passover is a feast of God, so no executions were allowed on that High Sabbath, which ran from day 5 at sunset to the next day at sunset, which then became day 6. Before sunset to start day 5 was day 4, the day of preparation when unleavened bread was made, and the Passover Lamb was killed between 3 pm and 5pm. Jesus died about 3 pm on day 4, which on our modern calendar was Wednesday, day 4. It is at evening at the start of Passover that the Jews eat the passover lamb and the unleavened bread.
At the start of day 5 at sunset, we can start the count of the 3 nights of days 5, 6, and 7, and the 3 days of daylight 5, 6, and 7. The end of the 7th day was at sunset Saturday. Then it became day 1 again, Sunday.
It is clear His resurrection happened shortly after sunset at the start of the 1st day, now called Sunday on the Hebrew calendar. This explains Luke 24:1 and John 20:1, because the women were there long before morning light.
Do refer to the charts below to see how it all fits, particularly how to get 3 days and 3 nights in the grave.
I have included the jpg of the chart separately so that is easier to print to get a paper copy to study.
