When the apostle Paul spoke of the spirit of anti Christ already moving among them - he was obviously talking about apostate Rome. Persecuting the Christians, killing them, imprisoning them. Did Paul know they would eventually "embrace" Christianity (if you can't beat 'em, join 'em) only to pervert the true message of Christ out of all proportion, is anyone's guess. Paul obviously knew something!

"In AD 476 the last Roman emperor in the West, Romulus Augustulus, was removed from power. Roman rule continued in the Eastern leg of the empire for a good many years after this date - in modern Greece, Turkey, the Middle East and northern Egypt. So - our eastern and western leg of our final kingdom - ROME. This monolithic empire disappeared and has only recently reared it's ugly head in recent years - the western leg of Rome first, and now the eastern has joined it's ugly counterpart.

Revelation 17: 7-9 tells us about the 'mystery' of this prostitute woman (Babylon - false religion......)and the beast that carried her which has seven heads and ten horns. "The beast that you saw was, and is not and will soon come out of the abyss and go to destruction. And those who dwell on the earth, whose name has not been written in the book of life from the beginning of the world, will wonder when they see the beast that was, is not and will come again. Here is the mind that hath wisdom, the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits." So, the seven heads (or mountains) that are the things that CARRY the harlot. I read this as saying, they are physical things (mountains) that are holding her edifices up - her buildings - her idols and statues.

Rev17:1 has one of the seven angels beckoning John to "Come here, I will show you the judgement of the great whore who sits on many waters (the RC church has churches all over the world i.e. ' exists on many waters'), with whom the kings of the earth (leaders, politicians, king, queens etc)  committed acts of immorality and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality"

As stated previously, no other religion or personage gets the adoration from kings, queens, politicians, movie stars, famous singers except for the Roman Catholic Pope! Although President Zero has been known to give a bow or two to Saudi Kings and make nice with Ayatollahs. East of the empire of Rome!!

Power is give to those who worship satan, on this earth. Only satan can give you the means to have extreme wealth, fame and power on this earth. He is, after all, the prince of this world. It is logical that the powerful and wealthy, famous etc., would consort with false religion. Satan wants to usurp God and his main motivation is to pervert His truth. Satan wants to be worshiped INSTEAD of God. I suggest that his main weapon would be in the form of a powerful and influential religion. Satan used ancient Rome - west and east, to persecute Christians and Jews right from the beginning. He has resurrected this final empire once more. Going after the same people again. Christians and Jews. It is naive to believe the RC church is now a toothless crone with no influence over world affairs.
