"A thank you for Pastor Bob's letters from 4/5 and 4/6"
Hi, John
An appreciative reply to Pastor Bob's letters:
Thanks for your great analysis of Daniel 9:26-27, Pastor Bob.
I also especially appreciated your info (from April 6th) on the exporting of stone from Indiana to Israel (via PA).
Really great to hear about that and I know that there is a well known
group in Isarel that has done everything needed to set up worship and
sacrifices again in the third Temple after it has been re-built. Also,
they have identified eligible candidates to become priests in the Temple
(finding men who are related to Aaron or the tribe of Levi).
Very important to know the background of the scholar who presents his views of Eschatology.
I enjoy John Walvoord and Charles Ryrie's perspectives as I believe that
Romans 11:25-27 is a definitive statement that God is not finished with
the Jewish people.
I have been blessed to study under a professor, who is a Dallas Seminary
grad and can very thoroughy and intelligently present his arguments for
why he believes what he believes.. The fact that he is a Christian Jew
who gave up much in his life (and has endured estrangement from his
Jewish family) to follow Jesus also speaks volumes. The belief in
Scriptural inerrancy is also important.
And, I deal with a lot of Jehovah's Witnesses coming by the
house...Yesterday I had just finished mowing and was hurrying to get to
my daughter's basketball game when they rang the door. I barely
had time to reach for a copy of Josh McDowell's "More than a
Carpenter" (a great book for pointing someone to the God-Man
Jesus) before answering the door. Yes, JWs do refer to the "Lord
Jesus Christ", but unless you know Him as eternal Living God, I don't
think you have saving faith.. (1 John 2:22) I have talked to some longer
than others... I have pointed out the lack of Greek knowledge of
Charles Taze Russell and the fact that he perjured himself in court in
1913.
Yesterday, all I could think of was quoting John 8:58 where Jesus
clearly stated that He was God when He said: "Before Abraham was, I AM"
and I also mentioned that Jesus "is and who was and is to come." (Rev.
1:4). Also, it helps to quote Rev. 21:6-7 which identies God as the
Alpha and Omega and Rev. 22:13 which says that Jesus is also the Alpha
and Omega.
Am very excited to see what the next two years bring as these blood moon
eclipses occur. We are almost to the end of the generation after
the 1948 re-gathering of Israel began.
Let us all share the Gospel with others while we are still on this
earth...As a very dedicated evangelist friend told me recently, "Be Bold
as you can be!"
Maranatha!
