Re Jane A and Dan 9 27
This will be a short version of what the Lord has shown me about Daniel overall and Ch 9 in particular.
If you start at the beginning of Chapter 9, this begins Daniel’s plea to the Lord regarding the return of his people to Jerusalem and his expected coming of the Messiah. This is the context leading to verse 27. In this context, Jesus’ ministry being “cut-off” after 3 ½ years of ministry reflects the crucifixion, then the return of His power as the Lion of Judah for the judgment of a similar time, the total of which reflect a seven year period. The covenant is God's covenant with the Hebrew people. In Revelation we see this second part of the seven years as the great tribulation.
This understanding does not change the reading of Ch’s 8 and eleven regarding the Beast/A-Christ.
Referencing Strong’s definitions and the usage of these words elsewhere in scripture is somewhat helpful to see this perspective. Also, grammar rules dictate that Pronouns at the beginning of sentences relate to the subject of the previous sentence("He"). I have made this point in other posts. I don’t like to press a point when I know there is disagreement. If you would like more info, and other Daniel insights let me know.
In Christ
