Yes, in the Old Testament I believe that 'The Branch' is referring to JESUS.

However, in the N.T.,  John 15, JESUS says he is the vine and we are the branches.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  (Jn. 15:5)

I believe that the vision was about John 15.....the church  are the branches and that the 'dead' branch was the false church.  I mention this in more detail in my YT video.
