"I agree Michael
Colunga meditating involves memorizing"
Michael Colunga,
Thank you and yes, I do agree with what you have said that we
must commit scripture to memory and then let it remain on our
heart and mind through the day and allow the process of
meditation to work. Psalm 1 also comes into play.
There are some passages and almost whole chapters that I didn't
even realize I have memorized simply from having visited them so
much that I find I can say them in my heart from memory and
while doing some task, I can allow these scriptures to live in
my conscious mind and very often produce insights I had never
seen before and this is how I learn. Or if I come across a
specific question I can ask the Holy Spirit and wait for Him to
reveal something about it because I already know the passage of
scripture in question...
I don't have time now but when I get a chance I'll give another
example. I did send in the one about Peter and the ear but I'll
share what I learned about why the disciples of John the Baptist
asked why Jesus' disciples didn't fast... And Jesus answers them
but then starts talking about how to make wine and not put it in
old wineskins and I wanted to know what that was all about so He
told me...
