"For Gino on his post
today...."
Hi Gino...I don't
think God puts ANYTHING in the bible for which he purposefully
hides the meaning and doesn't expect us to search for the
correct answer.
Proverbs 25:2..."It is
the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the honour of
kings is to search out a matter."
All the answers are
there, but we have to search out the answers
ourselves. If there are apparently many answers
that SEEM to fit, then we have to eliminate each
one...one at a time....until we come to the answer
that fits the whole picture. This often happens
by discussion by many. But today's Christianity
has so many "fixed" opinions on doctrine that too many
are unwilling to even listen to another one's thoughts
and ideas.
A! ll too often
I have started a meaningful discussion with
another Christian on logical ideas that don't fit
their own. For a while, they "see the
light". But, shortly thereafter I have had
them come to me and say, "I discussed this with my
Pastor, and he said your ideas are totally
wrong"....and they go on with a long second-hand
discussion on agreement with what their Pastor
says. Then my ideas are totally dismissed,
and not because they disagreed with me, but
because they chose to not offend their
Pastor. And so truth is lost that way.
Lines of
communication must be kept open between ALL
Christians. We are supposed to love each
other, and that means listening...and hearing
what each other has to say. We are all a
part of the same "body", but, for the most
part, we don't act it. We easily dismiss
one another because we don't agree with their
doctrine.&nbs! p; But have we "searched
out the matter"??? Probably not.
And if someone thinks they know the answer and
tries to post it, is it withheld because the
webmaster doesn't agree with it? I know
the answer to that one.
