"The Simpsons and the rapture"


Watching the Simpsons right now and of course there is some questionable content on there, but there have been numerous episodes that mention the rapture, including the one I'm watching. Tonight, Homer walked into Bart's room and it was empty and he said, "What?? Bart's been raptured!" Another episode outside of the church had a sign that said, "Rapture alert level: Orange". Another episode had Lisa being taken up in the rapture and he grabbed her back down and said, "Where do you think you are going?" And yet another had Homer warning everyone, but of course no one listened. He was wrong about his first warning, but correct about his second one and it was hell for people who didn't listen. I believe that God uses lots of avenues to reach people. Of course the message of the Gospel isn't what it should be on these shows as well--the clips make it seem as though the "devout" and "pious" are the ones who get into heaven--has nothing to do with Jesus and the cross. The writers of these shows may be poking fun unwittingly. Little do they know it's true. Here are some of the links:
