"Prayer"
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With a heavy heart I ask you to please pray for my son. His name
is Montgomery. Last week he came and told us he was ****. There
were signs, but he always denied them and denied being **** up
till this time and we were willing to trust and believe him. He
has also denied and still maintains that he is **** but not
sexually active. Unfortunately, there is ample evidence to the
contrary including his participation in a **** dating website.
Montgomery is 21. He has lied to his mother and me for a long
time about this. He has also lied to us about his male friend
who he has been passing off as just his "best friend," but it
seems he has confessed to my other children, his brothers and
sisters, that he is "married" (not legally, in California, but
ceremonially) to this other man. He has a ring which he told us
he found, but which he told his siblings was given to him as a
wedding ring.
We are very distraught. Montgomery lives at home and goes to
college. I have been supporting him here to enable that, but I
feel I can no longer do so. As a believing Christian, I do not
think I can allow an actively-practicing, avowed **** man, even
if he is my son, to benefit from my financial support so he can
pursue a **** lifestyle. We haven't spoken to him yet about what
we know, which has all been confirmed by what he has told his
brothers and sisters. Neither can I accept the justifications
and arguments for **** he is now sharing with my younger
children--the doctrine of demons.
Please pray that my wife and I are guided to do and say the
right thing as we soon move to confront him on this issue. We
love our son, but cannot condone or support the destructive
lifestyle he has chosen. We must stand up always for the gospel
so that he never doubts the direction of true right and wrong
nor fails to see the light shining over the way "home."
We plan to confront him in love, not anger or yelling. We plan
to encourage him to counseling, but we also plan to let him know
that we cannot continue to let him live with us while he chooses
to pursue a **** lifestyle.
Also, anyone with insight or advice in this area, please share
it with us. We raised our son in a Christian home, praying over
him every day since even before birth. We took him to church and
Sunday school throughout his whole life. We are all sinners
saved only by God's grace through Jesus Christ, but I don't know
how or why this had to happen.
Thank you.
In Jesus name.
Sonny
